So I've been trying to log into a website on my iPhone and I messed up on my password and started to rage. That got me thinking about what others might do when they make a mistake with their password. What I mean is, if you know or think that you did something wrong, do you keep typing it and see if it works? Do you go back to the point where you messed up and then fix it and move on? Or something else?

For me, I have a habit that if I accidently click the wrong key or put an extra one in, I worry that maybe the key before that one was wrong too or maybe when my fingers slipped, I accidentally pressed a few extra keys. Its hard to tell with hidden passwords, so I worth that even if I only made one mistake, I worry that there might be more so I erase the entire thing and start over. What do you do?

I would get very upset sorry to hear about your one though. That's why I make sure to slow down when doing a password for something, so that is how I would remember it. Doing it fast will mess things up, and all it takes is a one wrong letter for that to happen. Which is why people need to be really careful when doing their passwords because anything can happen, if or how you cannot access to what you actually need doing. Especially if its really important work for you it would really upset you. And I know sure as in heck I would be fuming a lot if I let that happen to me. '-'

...I realize I messed up and I enter it in correctly the second time, like all rational, sane human being will do.

Seriously, I'm not sure why this thread has to exist. TDV for the win.

Lord Leggy - King of IT : There is legitimacy to this thread. Sometimes you know your password and yet it is marked as "wrong." It happens to me often at work... then I realize that I have the wrong keyboard (AZERTY instead of QWERTY) setup or the wrong language (English instead of French). It can be frustrating.

Otherwise I usually keep a physical notepad where I keep all my passwords at hand. This way there is little chance I miss my passwords.

If I felt like I typed a wrong letter, I simply re type my password again (that's what 99% of the people do . They click on the backspace button if they felt like they messed up a letter). Or, I put "Show password", so that way I can tell if my password turned out to be correct or false.

Part of what I love about this place is the fact you can't see me bumbling and stumbling all over my laptop, pausing every half sentence to think about what I want to say and spending time rehearsing it in my head three times, then fixing all of the typos and proof reading the finished product twice before spell checking lol. I'm very, very sloppy when I type, so I frequently hit the wrong letter, so I usually wind up retyping my passwords if I feel like I slipped.

I don't always make mistakes with my passwords, but when I do, I prefer to go back and type it in the right way.

Lol, calm down guys, you're not going to be killed if you mistype your password once.

I don't usually make much mistakes with my password, but when I do I usually erase the whole thing and type. If I feel that I make another mistake, erase it again and type it out. I don't have to worry about spending much time because I'm usually a fast typer, especially with the passwords and usernames.

I keep on trying as sometimes with my big fingers i hit the wrong button. After a few tries though I will get frustrated. If I can't get it then I will just change my password. That is pretty much how I handle it

Oh, come on now, this is too easy. When I make a mistake with my password, I get locked out of my account... For almost a year. Then I make another account, explain my situation, then get locked out of that one. Then I make a third one, explain my situation, and realize this may be my main account now. Until a super nice mod named geeogree, as well as some other concerned Vizzers (Like Eniitan and Sword Legion and others), pops up and messages my other, current, account, telling me he thinks he can help, then I message him with the details, and then overnight he fixes the problem.

That's how I solve all my password problems. Yep, this very specific way. XD

What's with all this backspacing stuff? Heh. You guys are SO weird. (Yep, I'm the normal one.) XD

I don't know that I really make mistakes with passwords. I know what goes where and it certainly isn't something that's going to make me angry or upset. It's an extra five or ten seconds of my life to re-enter a password. I do it right the second time and I say, "Okay, no big deal," and I get on with whatever I was doing at the time.

We're not supposed to write down our passwords at work so I'll have a word and a phrase and then follow it up with a certain number, like 1, then 2, and so on. That way I won't forget and if I get something wrong, I know it's just a matter of knowing which number I am on. I can write that down so it is almost never an issue.

The only problem is when I do payroll, which is every other week, so I forget and I usually time out the password and I get blocked or locked out. I just have to email my friend who works in the payroll department, she resets my password, and I'm back in action, doing what I need to do.

I check if i made a mistake if i misspelled my password. Or if someone changed it when they broke in. But my password is impossible to guess, so that's not an option.
