Hi guys. I wanted to ask in a thread of what your thoughts on a a cartoon called The Amazing World Of Gumball? I know at first I didn't like it because it was a strange cartoon I felt was a bad impact on others. But, this one time some years ago my cousin likes to watch it since he is a fan, and so said that I should watch it. I said no and explained why. He said this episode you really like it so I watched the thing, and he was absolutely right. That one episode, and if many of you can remember Darwin was being a jerk and gumball had no choice, but to fight him. Now what I didn't expect what that seeing as if I was playing street fighter the music and everything was in that scene. Darwin's pose as M Bison, and Gumball first time around Chun Li and afterward Ryu. It was a really funny scene especially the ending part of the continuance of it. Since then I thought the cartoon wasn't really all that bad. If I was to go back and to watch it. That would be the most episode for me I would watch on and never get tired from. So what about you do you like this cartoon? Or not? What are your thoughts towards it?

Gumball has been my favorite Cartoon Network show for a couple years now. Many of the scenes are just so hilarious and they do stuff that you would never see in any other show.

I've never really watched any episodes of the cartoon.  My first impressions of Gumball weren't good,   I saw a preview of the animation and stuff while watching an episode of Ed-Edd-Eddy and Just seeing all of the weird animations and the strange banana type character just gave me a bad impression towards the show and I generally refused to watch it or Watch anymore of Cartoon Network after this and the Teen titans go scandal.


If you like it I won't judge because that's personal preference. 

zanderlex : I know I saw it in some threads before you said that. Everyone has their likes, and dislikes for this cartoon. I wouldn't say for me that I would personally like it? I kind it okish and the only episode I liked was that street fighter one afterwards I didn't watch anymore of the episodes just that, one alone. ^-^

SuperCrash64 : I can pretty much relate, and understand why based on that. Since that was how I felt towards it. I wouldn't watch the other episodes but just that street fighter one if you like street fighter games I personally advice just to see the scene. Actually lemme put it up for you to see. Then tell me your thoughts on it afterwards.

plasticinsanity : I can see why you like odd things, and I an guessing you also like adventure time as well? Since you have a picture of one of the characters from there. I forgot her name though...anyways amazing world of gumball is a rather odd show. I wouldn't really sit down to watch the seasons though.

Like Zander said, it's my favorite show still on Cartoon Network right now. I really love the humor they use in it, and a lot of the subtle references thrown in there for the older people who watch it as well. One of the things that make a great kids show is when not only the childish humor is funny all around, but they make references only an older audience would understand and find funny as well. 

My favorite episode would have to be the one where Gumball and Darwin's sister starts to become overly attached to someone she met at school, and the whole time the two brothers think the other girl is the one leeching off of their sister. They make a reference to The Last of Us in the episode (Gumball and Darwin turn into one of the "zombies" from the game). The first time I saw them do that reference, I was geeked to see one of my favorite shows, let alone a cartoon, make a reference to it at all. 

Even if some of the humor is odd and aimed at a much younger audience, it almost never disappoints, at least not for me anyway. That being said, it doesn't take a whole lot to make me laugh in the first place

Oh my gosh! I love this cartoon! I could sit in front of the tv all day just to watch the amazing world of gumball! It's a great and hilarious show! Gumball and Darwin are some of the best characters I've seen in newer cartoons, and the entire cast is honestly just hilarious. I mean, the whole concept is just kind of thrown in your face like, "Yeah guys, deal with it. No explanations required, this is just a thing now." And honestly, I kind of like that.

Granted, a good deal of the show makes me feel like I'm on an LSD trip (Not that I would know what that's actually like, but you know), but it's still awesome. I think it got weird at some point, like when Penny's shell cracked, that was just weird, but it was still an alright show, and Gumball's dad was hilarious.

Even though it is probably aimed towards kids, it's an absolutely hysterical cartoon.

Mynamescox44 : Oh wow I didn't know you were into that cartoon lol....and I can see why from all of the explanation, and details that you have put in your post. I know I won't really grow to love the cartoon, but I will always remember that one episode which I mentioned I would watch from time to time.

Titan127 : Oh wow another fan. Well yes I can see why. Its...a very usual weird cartoon that is filled with its own humor only most or some people would actually find it funny. Since I would expect not all people would like to watch the amazing world of gumball. Everyone has their picks and likes for a reason. I still don't think the cartoon is that bad its ok for me. ^^

Lol, I just spent the past hour watching the show, and one of my favorite episodes was on, the one where they try to upgrade Bobert. The whole journey to the store and everything that happens after was hilarious.

Titan127 : Please remember not everyone will like what you like. That's why I said there will be people who wouldn't like the show I'm just being honest. While there are people like you who do love the show, because it attracts you in a way. It wouldn't work for some others because they wouldn't find it funny see? People are different to what their likes are, and dislikes as well.

It's hilariously funny. I haven't seen much of it (like maybe 5-6 episodes total), but I laughed and laughed and laughed at what I saw. If it has a great fault, it's that it's too funny. Gags are more easily appreciated when they "hit the sweet spot". When I watch "Gumball", I laugh so often that I find it hard to appreciate each gag very much. And the humor may be a bit too much in one vein (it doesn't branch out of its comfort zone much). But the writers certainly have a solid grasp of humor. The show is fantastic at what it does, and I really don't feel it's crude, even though pretty much every character (I think?) is silly and childish. That's what makes the show work so well. It's definitely miles better than "Teen Titans GO", which relies heavily on gross-out humor and cheap gags...although not too long ago, I think I would have stood up for "TT GO" (heh, TT GO...). It's often "in your face", whereas "Gumball" doesn't have to be. It makes many jokes apparent, but it doesn't push them towards the screen saying "here, laugh".

I used to watch this show a few years ago when it first came out and I liked it. I thought it was pretty funny and stuff, but like a lot of other shows, I thought it got repetitive after a while, and stopped watching it. I occassionally glance at some of the episodes when my brother is watching, and they don't seem that good.

SuperCrash64 : DUDE, Ed, Edd, and Eddy was lit XD! That was one of my favorite shows when I was a little younger, but had to watch it in secret because my parents didn't approve of the show.

This show seems to be either hilarious, or totally boring. Both in extreme cases. I do appreciate, like Supernerd said, that it doesn't push the humor at your face. That's partially why I liked Phineas and Ferb so much. This has the same sort of speed when it came to jokes. Some more apparent than others, some you might have missed, but all of it isn't really forced through your eyeballs.

My only real gripe with the show is that everybody is about 4 years too young. Gumball and Darwin are supposed to be 10, Annias is supposed to be 4, and they certainly don't act 10 and 4 in the show. 13, 14, and 8 on the other hand is a lot more believable if you ask me.

I think the show is alright. I mean I'm more of a Regular Show kind of guy when I do watch cartoons. I mean the show is alright. Has a few good jokes in the show that make me chuckle a bit. The show is very unique though and that's my favorite part about it. 

supernerd117 : I'm not even sure how to reply back to what you said in your post....anyways it seemed that you had a good time by watching it from the way you expressed even though it was 5 or 6 episodes that you watch. But I don't really understand how people would find it that, funny I really don't understand that in a way. But, hey to each their own even has their likes for things even if those will be the awkward cartoon shows.

RDay13 : Yeah that's the thing really. There will be some funny episodes while at most you don't seem the find the rest too funny in a way. I'm sure most or some people would actually feel that way. Well it seems that your brother likes the odd episodes that makes him to laugh while you have yours. I remember when first hearing of the cartoon I knew from when I looked at it that, I wouldn't like it in the slightest. '-'

Ultrajeff : Don't watch it if you feel, that you can't get into the amazing world of gumball. That show is a give or take so you might not actually like it, and its not really an suggestion lol. I made this thread to see on the thoughts if people who do watch it to tell me what they like about it. As for the others who dislike it to post in, and give in their thoughts as well.

A user of this : Yes that's pretty much true. But, with phineas and ferb it was pretty much up there and far more better than the amazing world of gumball, and you know this very well. The ages pretty much says it all I did guess from how I looked at the main characters. '-'

I mean I think its alright too or more like ok the show is a miss or hit thing its either you like it or you don't its up to people to decide from the moment, that they see one episodes or a few form it. The regular show was ok as well I didn't find it too funny, but some parts of that cartoon was.
