Mayl (pronounced "may-loo") Sakurai is a human main character in the Mega Man Battle Network series. She is the operator of Roll. She has light red hair with a pink charm in her hair. She wears a blue vest over a light blue shirt and has a pink skirt, with black thigh highs and red shoes.

Mayl is an optimistic and sometimes prideful character. She's very smart for age and can figure out problems quickly. She also has a desire to protect her friends from danger, but this sometimes lands her into trouble and needing to be rescued. Her maturity and intelligence often saves Lan and her friends from leaping headfirst into danger.

She and Roll are a formidable combination in the series. Several times they defeat powerful foes such as Iceman and his operator Tory. In the video game, Roll has relatively weak attacks but she makes up for it with fast movements.

Mayl is close friends with Lan, Yai, and Dex. Throughout the series, it is implied that she has feelings for Lan (and Roll also has feelings for Mega Man). Lan is often oblivious to her approaches though. At the end of Mega Man Battle Network 6, she is shown married to Lan and the two have a child named Patch.

Mayl is a weird character in the battle network series. I had no idea she had feelings for Lan (The only battle network game I've played was battle network 3 blue and I didn't even notice anything except for when she wanted Lan to help her install her bubblewash)
