Coincidentally, mine's out right now as well.We had to get two window mounted AC units for my bedroom and my parent's bedroom, but, we're just stuck with a window fan for the living room, so we don't spend as much time in there as usual.

I know how you feel.
The AC doesn't work at my job right now...
Being stuck with angry people in a 90+ degree court room? Not fun...

Hope you get it fixed soon.

I feel for you man. My first time in Florida was in June, and it was just unbearable. I live in Idaho, and even though ours is a much drier heat it still gets suffocating because there is little green space to absorb all the heat from the day.

One thing (air conditioning or not) that can help you is to take a very cold shower before you sleep. Not like "wash yourself"; just pour cold water on your body for a few seconds and it will cool down your body. It has helped me a lot in the past.

My family were always real sticklers about using the AC, so I would constantly soak my head in either the pool or with the hose / shower with cold water. Nothing is quite as refreshing as covering yourself from the neck up (or even more) with cold water. For a more long-term solution around the house, you could always use an ice-pack and keep it on your neck or something. Hopefully it's been fixed by this point, but if not, maybe these suggestions will help out a bit.

I live in Utah, which is a desert state. Meaning it is very got during the day, Luckily I have AC to name the 104 degree weather bearable. It really sucks your AC is down because too much heat is not fun.

Because I can't handle cold air at times I sometimes stay away form my mother. Considering she feels really hot most of the time and open most windows in the house for cross ventilation. For me I would have to put in a robe or something when going downstairs from my room considering how easily cold I can get. So sometimes it would be hot in London the other it would either be cold or rainy. '-'

Put your head in the freezer for the whole day.

I remember over a decade ago that there was a blackout in my city and there was no electricity at all. It was pretty hot outside too (what perfect timing). I recall one of my neighbors having a tub full of ice (using ice cubes from the freezer) and we just used that to cool down during the blackout. I think it was quite relaxing and it did its job without any electricity. Also we had to use a cooler filled with ice and drinks to put under a nice shady area during the survival. I hope this helps!

I wish I could afford AC, I had to survive a heat wave that went up to 95 degrees with only some ice in a bag and a fan.

Dude! Your AC is down in FLORIDA???? Being a fellow Floridian I can only imagine the suffering you're going through, especially with the latest frickin HEAT WAVE that hit us lol. Even though you're more northern than I am, and therefor slightly cooler, I know it still must be blazing hot. Good luck to you.
