Not too long ago, there was a mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The shooter was an American-born citizen, but his parents were from Afghanistan. The shooter pledged alliegance to ISIS over the phone to authorities, and then carried out his attack, killing at least 50 and wounding at least 53. The shooter was then shot and killed by the police. This shows you how disgusting mankind can be. Just because you believe something doesn't mean the solution is to kill a bunch of people. Condolences to everyone affected by this situation.

My sincere condolences to all who may have been impacted by this mass shooting event. Many lives had ended far too soon this morning and many families have been scarred. My heart goes out to each and every one of you affected and I can only hope that you may find some peace in the coming years.

Yeah, I read about this. Really sad, and this ''muslim'' has done the least islamic thing you can do and my condolences to everyone effected by this.

I didn't know that he was an ''IS'' member, last I read his father said it had nothing to do with religion.

The part that pi$$es me off it,the FBI had reason to believe he was an ISIS sympathizer. In 2013 and 2014 the FBI questioned him,but let him go due to no strong evidence. I mean with ISIS or their puppets plotting attacks,that should had been enough reason to haul him in and detain him indefinitely. The FBI failed to protect us and the blood of the innocent is on their hands.

People are very quick to point out that he had a pistol and an assault rifle. Which renews the old as time debate of guns. As I have always said,"Guns do not kill people,people kill people." Gun control would have done nothing,these were legally purchased. But had the FBI done their damned job,this would not have happened.

It was the authorities who stated this, not the media. Also I believe they disregarded this event because instead of Americans being killed, it was Native Americans. (Even though they're still people but I'm just guessing.)

Anyway, I have to agree with old school on the point that the FBI needs to get their head unstuck from whatever damp, musty place they've been storing it and quit letting people go in the name of political correctness. If there was a faction of Christians going around stoning people to death in the name of god, we all know that we wouldn't get any special treatment.

Imamonster,by doing that,you play right into the government's plan,disarm the populace so they can rule the sheep. By limiting access to weapons,you also reduce how a every day person may defend himself. You cannot just have an event and then have the government punish everyone. Besides,laws protect criminals.

If the FBI has a decent reason to believe that someone supports terrorists,they should be taken in the dead of night,questioned and made to confess. I know,this does bring up the era of McCarthyism,when many people were accused of being Communist sympathizers. Even a couple of US presidents were accused of being a Red. But we are at war with these idiots and we need to have people brought in that have shown to have the potential of being a ISIS sympathizer. And the reason these idiots are allowed to proliferate? That really sucks, my condolence's to anyone affected as it is a very bad thing. I want ISIS to go down soon because I don't want this to happen anymore.

I hear this argument a lot. If you can just easily get a gun, then the possibility of mass shootings is a lot bigger.

In most of Europe there is gun control (I believe only Switzerland doesn't have it as strict as we do because their police, etc. is too weak, someone correct me if I'm wrong though) and you hear a lot less about mass shootings coming from here, right?

People claim that guns protect yourself, while here we can function fine without it.

And, really I will admit that it's not as easy as ''just have gun control'' Taking guns from everyone not only really, and I mean really takes a lot of time and is a real hassle, it'll probably cause riots.

So many people in the US have guns that it makes the ''I want a gun to defend myself'' argument a little more valid (although not much) because the gun law has been so broken in the US for so long now.

This has really gotten off-topic and I apologise for it.

In Switzerland,every male is required to render military service and part of the service is they must keep their weapon at home and they may keep their weapon when they retire. Part of the reason Hitler do not attack Switzerland is because he knew every male was armed.

In Europe,things are different. You guys have been disarmed for so long that you have learned to live with it. In America,we fought for our right to be free men and the 2nd Amendment is part of our heritage. Gun laws protect criminals. Criminals will get a weapon by illegal means.

You did nothing wrong,although it is not really off topic. Whenever some jerk decides he wants to kill people,guns are automatically in the spotlight. Guns are not the problem and we do not need gun control. We need people control. As I said before,this turd had been questioned before in 2013 and 2014 for possible sympathies with ISIS. Had the FBI done their job,this turd would have been detained and the shooting would not have taken place.

Here is a scarier thought,this guy was considering Disneyland as his target. I hope they catch him and execute him on live tv and on the internet. Someone that sick deserves to be hunted down and torn apart by gunfire.

And trust me the riots will be ugly,if you try to take people's guns. If you thought the LA riots were nasty,that will look like a child throwing a fit compared to when you try to take our guns.

Execute him live on TV and the internet will send a message. If you support ISIS,you will die.

People need to learn when to properly use a gun and to store it correctly.

LunarDarkness2 : my thoughts and condolences go to the victims as well as their families and all other people affected by this horrible and senseless tragedy I don,t know if it,s just me but it seems like shootings like this are becoming far to common in the states these days down where I live we do get the odd shooting but usually they are gang or drug related

This was really sad. I read about these daily all over the world mostly in Middle East Countries but, this was so close to home and real. It's extremely sad to see the hate. It's even worst to know our own government is behind these acts of hate and violence to push an agenda and also make a point to remove all guns from its citizens. I can't understand how people would do this to others. The trauma, pain, loss it's just not right. We all deserve to be equal and live and love as we choose. It's sad to see the loss and even more when reading their names even more. To see how extreme some can be with their hate and discrimination is just unbelievable.

I hate to be a downer on this subject, but they plan this sort of thing on purpose just to enact the illegal laws they want to pass.  Just like Sandy Hook and the Boston bombing, and even ( oh god, here it comes) 9/11.  Though the latter was more to get us (americans) into an oil war with the middle east in the ruse of "democracy."  We (americans) have been supplying the middle east with weapons for decades, and what do you think will happen when they decide to take our weapons away?  Russia, China and Korea decide to invade and all we have to rely on is the military, who would just as soon kill it's own people as they would any other terrorist...  Hitler did it to the Jewish, and look what happened.  America's government did it to the Native Americans, and look what happened.  An entire village  was slaughtered because they could no longer protect themselves from a tyrannical government, and in both cases, it was "for your own safety." Almost an entire race was eliminated, and we, (america), funded that.  I'm sorry, but when you have guns and I don't, I don't feel safe anymore.  When you take away anyone's freedom, it is never for their own good.
