We've all had those times where all your favorite games have a massive update to install (assuming that you use Steam or something like that) and we have to find a way to pass the time while we wait for the glorious moment when we see "Installation complete".

So I'm here to ask you guys what your favorite way to kill time is while your games are installing, updating, or otherwise un-playable.

Actually, I never deal with updates, I have so many games and my internet is so bad, that if I turn on a game and it says it needs to update, I just cancel it and move on to something else. Sometimes if I'm not playing games, just using the internet or whatever, I'll pick a few games that need to be updated and let them do their thing in the background, but I never update a game when I'm trying to play.

What I do during updates (or just waiting until the game is finished installing xp) is poke around here and maybe post or do CP stuff. If nothing interesting is happening on Vizzed, then I decide to watch YT instead. Or do stuff on PokefarmQ, which I tend to go inactive on for a few days at a time, so not often.

I remember that the second I tried playing Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS for the first time, it told me it needed to update it. All my excitement just vanished!

Usually when my video games are installing long updates, I either go on my phone and check YouTube or Facebook, or I just walk out of the room and find something to do around my house while I'm waiting. I get back on time most of the time

I would either go and do work. Or play games elsewhere to bypass the time of wait. Since it depends on how quickly the update is. It can be a very long time of wait. Or it could be a very short time of wait. But I do know this not a lot of people like to wait for their updates so while waiting they would go off and do something. Since I don't think there would be much or many people who would just sit by their computer and wait. Its better to go and do things in the meantime of it. So then it would fly so quickly that you wouldn't really notice it does the trick as we all know.

There was a few times I would take a nap waiting for a update, sure it was only suppose to be a 20 to 30 minute update, but I fell asleep, and 3 hours later wake up, and see that it's finish and the game is ready to play lol. I use to play that DC Universe Online game on my PS3 back when it was popular, and every time I turned it on, I always caught myself taking a nap, because it would take forever to update and start. It's was quite frustrating after a while and then I just gave up altogether on the game until recently I downloaded it for PC.

My favorite things to do while a game is updating are listening to music, watching TV, or exercising. Music is nice to listen to at any given moment, especially when you're trying to kill time. All TV is is something to waste time with lol. Though I guess it's good for laughs, or can even be educational, though not many people bother with the latter form of it. And exercise is fun to do period, plus it's good for you, so why not?
