Hi guys, this is RDay. Chat has been down the whole time I've been awake today (since around 9 AM ET). What is wrong with it? Will it be back soon? I've been pretty bored the whole day with only chatting on Steam. Any rough idea on when it will be back to normal?

Yeah, apparently its been down since one point last night, though not sure what could be the reason, something must be wrong because I don't think that there's anything that can be added to it

I just tried restarting the service but it keeps telling me that I have an invalid license key. It's possible that 123 flash chat's verification server is down. It's also possible that my license is no longer good but that shouldn't be the case because I'm pretty sure when I purchased the license, it was good forever.

I'll restart the entire Vizzed.co server later tonight to see if that helps.

Moderators : Were any of you messing with the 123 Flash Chat settings by any chance?

Even when I do, I stay far away from license settings....

I don't even think I can mess with any settings, but I haven't touched anything and wasn't even in chat past about 4PM eastern last night.

Davideo7 : I actually haven't messed with any of the admin panel stuff in at least a month. Strange that this is going on.

I haven't been in chat for roughly two years, so I'm good. Lol Also I don't even have chat mod powers anymore, so I don't know what any of it looks like.

Hopefully whatever it is gets fixed soon. This is a big problem for the site, and problems are something we certainly don't need right now.

I still have to wonder what's going on. It seems more likely to be a bug in the software than anything else. Whatever it is, I'm sure people will be glad when it comes back up.

Now I'm starting to wonder if some malicious user potentially caused this.

Either way, I'll be restarting the Vizzed.co server in about an hour. Hopefully that works. I'll report back to this thread with results.

I haven't been on chat basically since I sent my laptop in to get fixed which was Tuesday.

I know the chat had been up this week though because I had looked in on it once or twice for about 5 seconds. Everything seemed fine though.

geeogree : I know for sure it was up yesterday because I was in the netplay lobby chat. I'm assuming it's been down for around 20 hours or so.

I restarted the Vizzed.co server and that didn't seem to help, still getting the same message. I'm going to contact the 123 flash chat staff.

Davideo7 : maybe I can shed some light on what happened to the chat box since I was one of the few people left on it last night

it all happened weirdly like I was talking to my friend on there and suddenly him, me, and 1 other person that was there were all suddenly kicked off ... I gotz back onto the chat no problem but they didn't return so I just shrugged at what happened and gotz off of it for the night thinking it was just acting up and would be ok by tomorrow when I gotz back online

only problem is at that same time I tried to refresh the Vizzed Boards and what popped on my screen was the site was either experiencing server strain or maintenance and I knowz sure as hellz that it wasn't server strain since it there was hardly anyone online at the time and I'm sure you would have made an announcement if you were going to do maintenance so I'm not reallyz sure whyz that weird message screen showed up :/


and the only chat setting that were messed with recently were what the censor word is and a few of the words that were to be censored ... like for a while the words gal and yoshi were censored as a joke but then put back to normal but I don't think any of that would cause us not to be able to use the chat box today >.>

I haven't been in chat since last year or so, and since I'm no longer a chat mod I'm completely out of such panel.

I do suspect that it is a malicious act from a currently unknown user. Sadly, we've been having these frequently in the last months, so it wouldn't surprise me. It could also be a problem of the flash chat staff, let's see if they reply back soon enough.

Either way, I really hope this issue doesn't kill chat again after activity brought it up just lately, whatever the cause was. Let's hope we can get it solved soon.

I don't really have an idea of what's causing this, since I haven't tried accessing chat since this happened until now. The last change I made was changing the censor but I do that all the time so I don't really think that't the cause. I've never messed with the verfication settings and I don't think any of the other chat admins would've either so I'd guess the cause is something else.

Well, as of 6AM Central Time, chat still doesn't work. I get a totally new error message though. Yesterday when this thread was made, chat went through the usual loading screens only to put you in a bank white abyss. Now it gives me a "The connection has times out" message. But at least now it is saying there is an issue when yesterday there was absolutely nothing.

Thx for all of the replies. I originally thought it was an issue only on my end. Kinda glad to see it's not my computer or network, but it sucks that no one can get on.
