Why restrict yourself to Ruby and not Sapphire? lol

I'd go with OR, if you liked the original Ruby/Sapphire game, then you would love this to bits because it's the same with SO MUCH more. I'm still shocked by all the cool surprises that I'm getting.

Also if you get OR soon, you can benefit from getting the free mythical pokemon for that game as well.

For example, whether you get Latios or Latias (although you can get both in the same version with an Eon Ticket). There are also other Pokemon that cannot be found in the other version. Personally, I like Kyogre more than Groudon, but that's personal preference. Find the version that works best for you!

As for my recommendation, it's going to be the Pokemon game.

Regardless of how the poll turns out, decisions such as these should be made internally, not from external influences. Do your research, weigh your options carefully, and pick what you think will better suit your needs / wants. It's kind of hard to compare Fire Emblem and Pokémon, as they offer quite different experiences.

I highly recommend you play Omega Ruby, it's a pretty faithful remake of Ruby and has a ton of references to the game it's remade from. Only thing I find stupid in it is that there is no Battle Frontier which is kinda stupid to me.

Both are two completely different RPGs that deserve equal respect but I'm gonna have to go with Fire Emblem with this one. I only chose Fire Emblem because Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were remakes to Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. You can't really go wrong with Fire Emblem either it is a very enjoyable series.

I'd personally pick Omega Ruby because it's one of the best remakes you'll find out there. Everything that people loved about gen 3 is present here plus it has a really good post story and contests make their first appearance since Pokemon Platinum.

These two games while good are completely different. So it's difficult to pick one over the other. Choosing one really comes down to a matter of preference when it comes to what you're looking for in an rpg.

If you're looking for turn-based type of RPG, get ORAS
If you're looking for a strategy/tactical type RPG then Fire Emblem is the way to go.

For the sake of picking one over the other, I'd personally choose Fire Emblem, but mainly because I hold a bias for the series as it's one of my favorite ones. Plus I'm not the biggest gen 3 fan around, even though ORAS was pretty good.
