I really feel bad about not being able to donate, but we're only getting by just covering monthly occurrences and food. We don't even pay for the Internet service we use. There's a very, very kind and generous woman who owns the property across the street that allows us to use hers. I don't have any social media accounts because everyone I talk to is on Vizzed, so I can't publicize the site that way. I can, however, if you approve, try to do it the old fashioned way and try to print flyers to post around the bulletin boards about town. I don't currently have a printer, but I can find someone who does. I just didn't want to do this without your permission.

EDIT: While I know absolutely nothing about filing taxes, I know how rough a 1099 can be.... It looks like it's going to cost us about $1,000+ on our tax return this year because my mother was employed as such at one point last year.

EDIT EDIT: I just remembered that I'm awful at trying to design anything... I know you're already an extremely busy person, but maybe if you made an official flyer that we could just print out and post, there would be more than myself willing to do so. Just a suggestion though.

Jordanv78 : You mentioned adblock and I just thought about something: I don't use adblock, but I also don't have flash enabled, so that means that all the ads that are not simple linked images do not show up. Is that also hurting the revenue?

You're right about the adblock hurting Vizzed revenue. I wouldn't be surprised if up to 25% of the site viewers used ad block (and I've heard that the number of adblock users goes up more and more all the time) which means the site is missing out on a huge chunk of its potential revenue. I've considered possibly making it so the games in the RGR don't play unless a user adds Vizzed to the exception. Eventually adblock users could make websites go out of business.

Scohui : That does also hurt but I can understand why you'd want to disable flash. If possible, enable flash only for Vizzed.

As far as Adblock goes, I wouldn't be surprised if the number is even higher than that. People don't understand that Ads, are the lifeblood of the sites they love. Sure sites like Youtube might be able to take a little hit here and there, but I don't think people understand how much those programs hurt sites like these. We've got to pay for these features/servers/bandwidth somehow people!!

I think adding that measure to the RGR would really help take some of that missing revenue back.

I do understand why some people use adblock. I've visited some sites which have horrible ads: popping out of nowhere, covering the whole page, having sound enabled but nowhere to be seen so you cannot turn the sound off... It's very annoying, even more when said ads aren't in coordination with the site's content, and you can end having an invisible ad with sound while playing a video, for example. If it's the site's fault for not coordinating the ads they display or the advertiser's fault for making such ads it's up to each individual.

Vizzed doesn't have that kind of ads, and has them in coordination with the site's content. All ads have their place and they don't have any sound (outside of the "Spend 0 Viz" link, but in that case is justified), so using adblock isn't necessary. If only people managed to understand this and turn off adblock even if it was just for this site things would be much different now.

Davideo7 : Ok then thanks for replying though friend, it means a lot to me and I hope you survive this struggle as ironically, my mother is also having a hard time with money as well. 

Jordanv78 : Exactly. Donations help but most of the site's money does come from ad revenue.

If I made it a requirement so that users have to enable ads on Vizzed in order to play the games, then I think to make up for it I'd make an item in the item shop for sale that would allow a user to disable ads. So basically if someone wanted to disable the ads, they'd have to earn the privilege. Most likely an item like that would cost 50,000 Viz or more or I'd make it a few different items and each item would disable different ads.


EX Palen : I completely agree, some sites just flood their pages with ads and it really can slow down a person's browser. Those are the sites that have caused a lot of people to resort to ad block sadly.

Davideo7 : Making it so that users have to see the ads might really help. Have you thought of doing some sort of a subscription service maybe? Like a small donation every month gets some users more stuff?

Just with all security worries you see these days it's very hard to trust whom you give your info out to. But if you say can do it without that then I'll give it a shot for Vizzed and its users.

I just donated; once I get out of this hotel due to emergency move, I will be in a better position and will donate more but, I hope others don't feel bad about donating just $10 since it all adds up!!
