Does anyone play tycoon games, either on PC or free online?

I'm curious to see what online games you like the most.

I used to play Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 religiously.

It started when I went to daycare over the course of elementary school. They had a computer with the Platinum version of the game. I was the only one able to get gold on all the scenarios, though like all the other kids I preferred the free play mode.

Even today, five years later, I still come back to the game sometimes.

I've really never gotten into the "Tycoon" games. They always seemed like something that could be interesting, but I was worried I would get bored of them fairly quickly.

The closest games of that Genre that I ever got into was SimCity or ThemePark

Ghostbear1111 : I play them sometimes, mostly things like Game Dev Tycoon. I really like game dev simulators above any other simulator or tycoon game, although I still don't entirely know why. I guess there's just something I find interesting about running a fictional game company and creating all kinds of ridiculous games that would never be released or sold on store shelves in real life.

I tried playing bits of games like Roller Coaster Tycoon and the Zoo Tycoon games, but I never really got into them. I never did figure out how to make a profit in either of the Zoo Tycoon games, and it was the same way with Roller Coaster Tycoon.

I actually really enjoy (the right) tycoon games.  I used to love zoo tycoon, but I found roller coaster tycoon too overwhelming.  I liked it, but felt quickly lost in trying to build and design rides.  And although it's not EXACTLY a tycoon game, I enjoyed Spore a lot. I'd say that's a sort of mix between tycoon and sandbox games.  I don't remember playing any other tycoon games often, but I enjoy the concept very much.  I'm just not a serious enough gamer to be good at competitive gaming.

Tycoon games are the best, one of my favorite game genres. Basically if its a game that revolves around business, management, simulation, then its a game that I love, especially ones like roller coaster tycoon and other park and city based ones.

The Roller Coaster Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon games were a huge part of my childhood. No other PC games have ever been as memorable and addicting to me as the RCT games. I wasn't huge on 2, but 1, 3, and their expansions were incredible, and are my favorite PC games of all time.

Assuming that Idle games like Cookie Clicker and AdVenture Capitalist don't count, the only real tycoon game I got seriously hooked on was SimCity DS. I played that thing for two weeks straight. Burned out pretty bad too. I haven't picked it up since.

Jordanv78 : It's not getting bored of them that's the issue.... It's never being able to break out. A prisoner of your own mind; a slave to your lust for digital conquest.

You know, I really love playing Tycoon games when I was younger, it was really quite fun and entertaining. Although I haven't played a Tycoon game since 2011 (which was RCT 3), but I might just make a comeback to the series once more, especially the RollerCoaster Tycoon series which was the best one out of all of them, and that wasn't just me saying that.

gamerforlifeforever2 : You and me both, I first started playing RCT (which was RCT 1) with a demo you got that my parents downloaded on the computer and they let me play some games (which I think was back around 2003), and I spotted this game and tried it out, but the demo was you can only pick one of 3 pre-made parks and your time limit (in-game) was 3 months which in real time was 30 minutes, since that demo I played and the full game my parents purchased for me, I have been a fan of the series all the way to 2011 (where out of nowhere, I lost interest), but fixing to regain interest once again.

I LOVED Zoo Tycoon when I was a kid. And I still occasionally play it. I loved messing around, and playing it seriously. It is probably one of the only games I will always love playing.

I really want to try out Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. I hear that is the one everybody loves. And it's not like I just want to make Mr Bone's Wild Ride or anything...
