Hey, vizzians. So, this is a different kind of thread. As you can see, I've been having lots of nightmares these days, and I have no idea why. 3 of them were school-related, and one of them was about me. I had 4 nightmares in total. Yesterday I dreamed that it was my birthday, and everyone ignored me. It was so sad . I also dreamed that I got a terrible grade, and failed the 2nd trimester. I dreamed of the creepiest face, too. Another dream was similar to the terrible grade one, except that this time I got expelled.

So, what does this mean? Do nightmares serve as predictions to the future? Are nightmares trying to deliver me a message? Why am  I having nightmares? I need your advice.

You're probably nervous about the Brevet.

Three out of four of these had to do with school (you mentioned to me that the creepy face was your teacher's), and I'll get around to my theory about the other one at the end.

I think you're stressing about the Brevet since it's coming up next year, and you keep telling me about how quickly time is passing and how unfair you think it is that you have to take it and all that . Can't blame you. I personally don't like the kind of studying students preparing for the Brevet have to do myself, and I'm thankful I don't have to. It stresses on memorization way too much, in my opinion. I feel sorry for my friends who have to take it, but don't worry - you're smart

Think of it this way - once you're finished with it, you get to brag about how much smarter you are than me all you like, okay? Hahaha.

Anyway, your fourth dream might result from your fear of being looked down on for failing the exam? Doesn't sound too far a stretch to me.

Whatever, Mazen; you have time until then, and when it does come you'll be ready. I promise! Don't worry about the not being able to hang out as much thing - we'll just have to make sure our visits are that much more of a blast! And when I do come over (or you pop by here), I'd ask you questions if you wanted me to. Some people feel confident after being tested in preparation for exams, so if there's anything I can do you should tell me!

Anyway, your birthday's coming up soon, and I will make it my sole duty to annoy you all day long in order to ensure that "ignored" is something you will never be <3. Better start considering which flowers to bring to your eardrums' funeral.

EDIT: HAHAHA BEFORE I REPLIED YOUR PROFILE PIC WASN'T MITSUHIRATO N NOW IT IS I'M DYING

EDIT #2: Changed mine to show solidarity.

NintendoFanKimmy : Mhm, I guess you're right. I think about it a lot, and I feel that it will definitely steal my freedom next year. I'll try not to think about it much from now, and I should focus on my present more.

I don't know too much about your personal life, but I'd say Kimmy is probably onto the right thing. Dreams are often a reflection of your thoughts so if you're having more nightmares than usual it's likely because you're worried about something, in other words typically there's an underlying reason for it. Though it is possible it just happened at random this doesn't seem like one of those times.

I'm a person who pretty rarely experiences nightmares (as far as I can remember anyway) but I typically get them in circumstances like that.

I know it's already been said, but it's being repeated because it's true:  If you're having an unusual number of nightmares, the cause is likely stress.  Our brains try to sort through our thoughts of the day while we sleep, so even your most subconscious thoughts are being processed when you close your eyes.  There' likely not much you can do about it, other than to lessen your stress.  The methods of coping are nearly limitless, but you can try positive thinking, making luxury time for yourself, or better preparing yourself for whatever ails your mental / emotional health.

Good luck with getting the bad dreams to dissipate!  I know they can suck (especially when they feel so real), but just remember that your brain is filing things away, and dreams aren't typically anything more than that or anything to add to your list of stresses.

Stress. Pretty obvious from my standpoint. Although, if you eat something before bed such as pickles, cheese or peanuts/peanut butter, that will mess up your head really good. I have dreams about giant, 3 mile wide tornadoes wiping entire cities off the face of the earth, followed by torrential, mutagenic rainfall causing horribly deformed, wild animals to attack and purple thunderstorms striking stone gargoyles and turning them into living, flying, one-eyed, laser spewing beasts. I certainly hope that's not prophetic....

Your stressed that you won't do much good at anything, and your nightmares are a manifestation of that stress. You need to find ways to relieve that stress for yourself, if you do that then you will feel much better and maybe stop having nightmares.

Now that it's been about 2 months since you made this thread, I'm curious. Have the nightmares stopped? Let us know!

m0ssb3rg935 : That sounds similar to dreams which I've heard are produced from Champix. I had one similar minus the terror - I was buying groceries, and I picked up a tomato-sized blueberry which in my dream seemed like a normal thing.

Dreams can be hard to interpret. But like everyone else has said, it seems tied in with what you're worried about in life. The main thing to remember is a dream is only a dream and nothing more. They're weird like that for a reason, being they have no real significance other than your brain throwing around random information while you're unconscious.
But I'm curious, like Lunar said, now that this much time has passed, are the nightmares still occurring or have they subsided by now?
