Who is going to be the next President after after Obama?

Trump?

Clinton?

Cruz?

Sanders?

It is really sad to see that we don't know who it is going to be yet there is so much controversy.

I'm not exactly sure who will get the spot but I am sure that I'm ready for a new president and I'm sure I speak for most people.

I'm happy with anyone besides Trump or Cruz.
Trump is a joke.
Cruz is Satan incarnate.
I'm embarrassed to admit my parents are so blindly Republican they would love for Trump to be President. God it drives me mad how he's getting the support he does. I wonder if I went out and said a bunch of racist, sexist, and egotistical crap, maybe I could be the next leader of the free world.
And to quote Trevor Noah from tonight's Daily Show, "Cruz would sell his mother for 5 more points in the polls."

Totts :  As an impartial Canadian who has no say in the matter, I would heap the money on the name Bernie Sanders if those are the only four names still in the running. I don't follow your politics much.

Your man Sanders seems to be talking about things that matter to people and that he wants to fix them. In 2008, the USA elected a president that very much seemed an idealist like that. Maybe they will have a fresher, very motivated one who perhaps has the energy and will to follow through with his ideals. He's saying the right things. Nobody has dirt on him so he can kind of write his own ticket to the oval office because his only press appears to be the neat things he's saying.

One of Uncle Bernie's Google posts says he's serious about reducing gun related injury and death in the USA. I don't know how he plans to massage Congress into making those amendments to existing laws but if he really wants to that it would be huge for the States if it happened. The documentary Bowling For Columbine estimated eleven thousand deaths came by result of shooting in the USA per year. A negligible amount of those are eating up all the press because there were cops holding the guns and the victim happened to be of a different race. Officers are often required to carry and handle firearms in the line of duty. There are enough diverse races in North America that sometimes a person of a different race from the officers will be stopped by police. Sounds like a recipe for somebody to get shot. The constables' first priority is to make sure it isn't them, of course. Multitudes more law enforcers get shot by suspects than the other way around. Little known fact. That's just one thing Uncle Bernie wants to happen. I'm reading this and saying, "YES! Less of Americans turning up dead would be a tremendous thing for them." I might feel safer touring the cities of the USA and spending my costly exchanged money in your wonderful stores. This is good for your tourism business economy too. Maybe it's time to double down on that heap of money.

With every double down more cards have to be drawn so let's peer at the other cards. This Cruz fellow sounds quite disreputable from what I have observed Americans are saying. I didn't bother looking that guy up based on that. I get the sense that the information would be useless and easily forgotten but leave me with a sense of foreboding that such a man got this far in a presidential race in the neighboring country. Wait. We have a guy like that. He just became our Prime Minister. Four years. Five if he's advised it's better to wait for an upturn in poll approval. Yes. It's the Canadian Prime Minister that holds the responsibility of calling a general federal election. Trudeau. Responsibility. Those two words do not belong in the same sentence. Yikes!

Another card is Donald Trump whom everyone knows. Many have read his book 'The Art of The Deal'. Many have seen a worthless television shill program where he searches for and grooms a series of successors for his private business. Many more have heard he's a billionaire and possibly a genius of swelling business prowess. From the standpoint of running the entire USA like a for-profit business, he might turn the wheels of your economy ever faster or he might get the country 7 billion more dollars deeper in debt. To see if he can get the country out of it the way he did for himself, you may have re-elect him to a second term. That would most likely be his hook to get a second term if he performed terribly. If he did great or all right at least, Americans left, right and centre would still complain about him incessantly because of his forthright attitude and prejudices. Would that be good for all the USA or just the American worshipers of success who believe being a jerk is the only way to get things done? If it were up to me, I'd be on the fence about whether to seriously consider this candidate as a contender. Being a big time celebrity before entering the political race seemed to work out okay for a certain former governor of California. Maybe DT was inspired by that. He more than most has embraced serial monogamy at a marital level. What beautiful woman will be his wife next decade? Anybody taking bets? My parents are good people. If they were American, DT wouldn't get a vote from them or me. I have no idea if Americans even pay attention to such values. Like I said, on the fence.

Then there's Hilary "The Rodram" Clinton. Forcing down our throats and leaving a lump. We wonder about that lump in our throats. Is it cancer? Why do I feel so bad when I see her in media? Is it because of Bill's philandering I-wish-my-daughter-was-as-hot-as-you tango during his presidency? Is making the man she didn't leave for his perfidy the first gentleman to be the spouse of the American President so important in the vast scheme of marital revenge that all Americans need to be a part of that fiasco? How far will she take that? Will she push to get nice looking young male interns hired at the White House? Will she get fresh with them in front of Bill to show him how it feels? Why the games? On a positive note, she's saying all the popular buzz things to get elected that Sanders is saying. Creative ones even. Ones that don't reduce the size of that lump but make you feel as though you have just swallowed a yummy crunchy cookie and maneuvered it around the lump to pass it through your esophagus.

If the devil held my head over a boiling pot and made me bet, I'd go with Sanders as the one I think will get elected by Americans. Keep in mind, I'm Canadian. I do not live in your culture. I don't know how pervasive American ignorance actually is. I don't know if those people regularly attend your polls. I just know what I have read and I can recall those thoughts when given adequate stimuli.

These have been my thoughts. Thank you Totts. Say no to robots. Thanks lots.

Postman3 : Ha ha I love your signature. Resident Evil 4 is my favorite of the whole franchise. Back to the original point of this thread, I really doubt the next President will be Democrat. Personally I find the whole two-party system a fail in of itself, but recent history tends to show generally every time a new President comes into office, he's of the opposite party than the last one. I believe it has to do with the fact that many Americans expect the President to somehow change their individual lives for the better when that is almost never the case, and every election when the current President hasn't impacted their lives for the better, the ones in the middle who aren't hardcore left or right, think if they go the other way, then the changes will occur. I wish people would realize that's something they need to do for themselves. The President can only change so much, and nobody on this earth can predict what their choices will do to the future (good intentions can have disastrous consequences). To quote Family Guy for something that applies here, "If Con is the opposite of Pro, what's the opposite of Progress?"
Spoiler: It's Congress.

I think it's going to be donald trump. Sure he may come off as an troll, but I wouldn't underestimate the probability of him actually winning. Then again, trumps's ego could ultimately become his downfall.

I say it will be Hillary Clinton because I don't think we had a female president in a while, and she won't screw us over on health care unlike
Obama did.

Whoever it is, one thing is for sure: government stays in power. With the only "libertarian" candidate gone (Rand Paul), all that is left is a competition between bigger and biggerer government. Donald Trump is a bully who abused eminent domain for his own personal gain, Cruz seems to like to have the government in the bedroom, Christie and Rubio loves federalism except when it comes to the War on Drugs... And let's forget about Democrats; they would continue their War on the Economy with heavier regulations that only benefit... those that are regulated. Indeed, only big banks can afford the heavy cost of red tape to operate.

I have no idea. The numbers and opinions are all over the place. But it seems like Hillary is in massive denial, which is the only reason she's still competing. And it looks to be with the actual people that Trump and Sanders are the biggest contenders. Although Ted Cruz seems to be coming up in the numbers now too. Personally, Trump and Sanders are both against the TPP, something which I really wish Vizzed was more aware of. But with that in mind, I am happy if either Sanders or Trump wins. Hillary played her hand in starting that accursed bill, and now is lying saying she is against it. And Cruz...I never cared enough to look into him.

I'm not quite sure.I'm still on the fence about it, but, I'm afraid to say Donald Trump may actually have a decent, dare I say, good shot at actually winning this thing! However, I'm not exactly sure he really wants to be president for real.I watched this youtube skit a while back (really funny though, I'll link to it at the bottom of this post) and on of the guys was like "remember me, but, not enough to make me president" I kinda think Trump might be the same way. He's probably just after the publicity.

If he doesn't win (and I'm really, honestly hoping he won't) I have no idea.It doesn't seem like the Democrats are doing so well what with the controversy with Hilary Clinton.So...I don't know. But, about the only thing worse than Donald Trump winning would be Ben Carson winning. That guy is scary weird.

Oh yeah. Here's the link to that video I mentioned earlier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7kQSxfc_JQ

I love Rubio. He sucks at public speaking, but that's ok. His platform is one I mostly agree with.

But I don't know who's actually going to win. Nothing has given me any inclination as to one candidate over another.

My opinion of all of the delegates right now is pretty low. The ones I would prefer over the others are Ben Carson or Bernie Sanders, but still...

This election doesn't really seem to have many good choices to choose from. If Trump gets elected I'm moving to Canada.

LunarDarkness2 : We seem to be on a similar page even though I think we most likely have differing political views. If anyone but Cruz gets elected, I'm fleeing to Canada. As a matter of fact, I'm researching how to get my passport, because it's looking bad for the home team... Trump's a fascist dictator and I can't really trust Rubio because he's too tight with the party. I don't know a lot about him, and I don't think he's a bad guy, but he just hits me as being too much politician to NOT be a sellout. Hillary might as well be female Trump, and while I think Sanders might mean well, raising minimum wage and taxing wealthy people into oblivion will do all but cause a total economical breakdown. And lets face it: no one else has the slightest chance of winning. I'm convinced that Trump will escalate some sort of disagreement into a full on ground war for his profit and start a draft to sustain it, and if I'm to fight for anything, it'll be my beliefs and my people, and NOT my government. Any leads on a good place up north?

You know, the way it looks like, it might be Donald Trump becoming the 45th president of the United States, even know a lot of us don't like it.

Trump is basically going to win almost every state and the further we get closer to the presidential nomination around the RNC in August, we will end up with him getting the nomination, even know every other Republicans don't like it. I think Ted Cruz's Canadian nationally would screw him up, plus Marco Rubio hasn't really aced the debates because his speeches isn't in par with every other candidates, as for both Ben Carson and John Kasich, they both are too inactive in the whole election to notice them (I seen them like once or twice this whole election), I see them both dropping out this month.

As for the Democratic Party, I am heavily favored with Bernie Sanders (just like everyone else under 30), it's either I like his ideas, or I just don't like Hillary Clinton. We all know what Hillary is capable of, we knew all the stuff she's done while she was both First Lady of the United States and Secretary of State *cough* Benghazi and e-mail *cough*. I don't really trust having Hillary as president. Although it's been going back and forth between Hillary and Bernie, I think Hillary will get the Democratic nomination, even know how much it pains me to say that.

A lot of people thinks it will be Clinton vs Trump this November with Trump winning the whole thing.

I would vote for George Bush The XXVII over Trump!!! Really too bad for you Republicans if you have nothing else to offer. But my opinions dont matter. I have never set a foot on American soil. Vote for some guy who quotes Mussolini and who don't condemn the KKK because he "knows not enough about them.".  See if the rest of the world cares any more of you than Isis.

I really do not see the stupidity in America. Some people need to read up on the facts before just randomly voting on people based on what they say and not what is fact. Such as Donald Trump.

Donald Trump: I will bring back the economy because I am rich.

Logical Person: No you cannot since you went bankrupt four times.

Seriously why do people not see the lies this man is spreading? Sadly it is inevitable. Donald Trump will be our next president. Everybody say goodbye to logic.

I also do not know what the people in the government will think about it. I doubt he will actually get things done like he says since everyone in the government actually knows what they're doing and will call out all the stupid things he tries to do with America.

I'm a Canadian rooting for Bernie (#FeelTheBern), but apparently Trump is doing really well in the polls. Scarily well. I could see him winning although I hope not.

By the way it looks I think Trump has a good chance of winning.

For those of you (such as myself) that are simply baffled at how a person like Donald Dr- I mean Trump is winning here are two interesting videos that, though not the main point of either video, sheds some possible light on the topic (if not the videos are still pretty interesting in themselves).
