So, back on January 8th, it was announced that Chandelure was the latest Pokemon to be added to the upcoming Wii U game Pokken Tournament, which is only available in Japanese arcades at this time. Chandelure is definitely one of the most surprising additions to the roster yet, and it's unclear what kind of moves it could have, though if I had to guess, it would probably specialize in ranged attacks. More info on Chandelure will be released on January 31st. For now though, people can only try to imagine how different Chandelure will be from the rest of the roster.

At this time, there are 16 confirmed characters on the Pokken Tournament roster: Charizard, Pikachu,  Pikachu Libre, Machamp, Gengar, Mewtwo, Suicune, Sceptile, Blaziken, Gardevoir, Garchomp, Lucario, Weavile, Braixen, Shadow Mewtwo, and now, Chandelure. How many more Pokemon do you think will be added to the roster by the game is released? I'd like to hear what you think below. The game is supposed to be released on March 18th, 2016.

I am not complaining. Chandelure is an amazing Pokémon. I am more shocked about Braixen (why this of all things). But where is Swampert (or Mudkip)? All the other fully-evolved Hoenn starters are already in. There are also too many Fire types right now and we are missing some types like Bug and Rock. Some Pokémon I would like to see are Heracross, Hawlucha (perfect game for it) and a Fossil Pokémon. I hope they'll add some more Pokémon before the release, the game needs a little more variation if you ask me.

The game also got a release date: March 18 this year for both Europe and North America.

TornadoMudkip : I totally agree with you about Braixen, If they wanted to add a Gen 6 starter, why not go with Greninja instead? Everyone prefers Greninja anyways lol! Also, I didn't realize that it now has an official release date. After looking on Serebii.net, I see that you're right. Now I have something in March to look forward to besides March Madness.

That there is a good pokemon because first glance it tries to lure you or guide you to what your fate is. Unlike other ghost Pokemon in the series they look half as bad as the new ghost Pokemon in the series have intentions of trying to steal your soul like Litwik and Chandelure they are 2 harsh ghost Pokemon that would be worth having in any pokemon game including Pokken Tournament that is where they belong is a Pokemon game from the franchise because they are good ghost Pokemon they can chose more Pokemon to be in Pokken Tournament as well because it should teach you to use every type in any situation of the games because it is a good game series alone.

You know, it is quite a disappointment that they added some Pokemon in that didn't really fit for the game tell you the truth. With this announcement, I was expecting it to be Zoroark, but oh well. Quite a few people is a little upset with the roster like myself because they wanted someone that fits for the game, but it's no big deal, a lot of people had the same feeling about the Smash Bros roster and it still turned into a popular game.

I think they will be one more announced before the release date, but not too sure.

I'm still planning on preorder the game at GameStop next week sometime and go from there.

Not meaning to double post, but...

I have looked around. This will more likely be the release roster. They will be downloadable content in the future such as new Pokemon and stages.
So, I think with all the Pokemon that others really like to see in Pokken Tournament might just get a 2nd chance, like I seen a lot of people wanting Zoroark, Greninja, Hawlucha, and a few others in Pokken. They might not be in the release roster, but they could be in the dlc roster. Let's hope and see.

I think it's cool that they're adding something more obscure and not just going with the popular obvious picks. That said even then I don't know if Chandelure would be my first pick. Still holding out hope for Stunfisk making an appearance (weirder things have happened :v). Really though I would like to see a bug type pokemon being added. Probably either Beedrill or Pinsir, I feel like either of those could be interesting. The two additions I'd really like to see are Typhlosion, it's my favorite fire type starter and would really just like cool but considering there's already Charizard and Blaziken that may be slightly unlikely. Porygon-Z would be my other pick might seem kind of unlikely and would have to focus on projectile type attacks but I think it would make for an interesting addition as well.

I think Greninja is definitely going to happen at some point, feels like it would fit and due to it's popularity and how it's in smash bros, unless there's a very good reason for it I find it hard to believe that it won't make its way into the game. Another Pokemon that seems like it could happen at some point is Gallade. I mean they already added Gardevoir and being a fighting type and having a mega it would make a lot of sense.

I'm kind of glad they went with some of the more underrated Pokemon. It's a shame Swampert, Greninja, or Hawlucha didn't get in (yet) though. Heck, I would have been fine with Zoroark, Lucario, or even a Moletta! There aren't really any Normal, Bug, FIGHTING, or Rock types in this game. It's a bit disappointing. But what can you do other than pay up for the inevitable DLC Pokemon that we want?

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.
