There's a new type of Team competition which involves signing up to a team or creating your own. So in other words, you will not earn points for any team if you're not part of a team so be sure to join one here:

Except for team competition being a little different, there isn't much else new to this Tour de Vizzed except 2 of the daily CP actions being different. We now have a 'Playlist Rated and Playlist Rating' day and a 'Song Rating' day.



Here's some brief TdV info:

Each day there will be 4 Jerseys you can compete for:
Yellow Jersey: Most words in a day
Blue Jersey: Most posts in a day
Red Jersey: Most CP in a day
Green Jersey: Most CP actions in a day

If you get 1st place in a Jersey for a day, you get to "wear" that Jersey the following day. To "wear" it means that the background of your username will have a unique background graphic. Only the top 5 places of each Jersey gets points, 1st gets 5 and 5th gets 1. Whoever has the most points for any Jersey at the end of the competition gets to wear that Jersey for the entire next month. If you have more than 1 jersey, your jersey receives stripes for each jersey color you own.

Along with the Jerseys are Banners that change your username color. They basically represent who has the most points total:
Rainbow Banner: Whoever has the most points so far in the competition
White Banner: New member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who has signed up in the past 3 months)

Tour de Vizzed Rules:

You'll be DQ'd if:
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in one of the following forums: Crazy House, Vizzed Market, Polls and Questions, Video Game Craziness, Newbie Forum (unless posts are made in your own thread then it's 50%)
-You copy content from other websites or other posts
-You use the "tabbing" technique to make a bunch of posts in a short amount of time
-You're caught cheating or unfairly earning Contribution Points
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in the same thread (your own thread and staff threads are an exception)
-If 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day
-Staff members are not allowed to feature their own reviews during the Tour de Vizzed

Additionally:
If you get DQ'd just once from a Jersey, you can no longer get points for that Jersey for the rest of the month. We will be very strict from now on with the Tour de Vizzed. Only CP actions which you earned CP off of count toward the Green Jersey.

If you get DQ'd from too many Jerseys in too many TdV competitions, you'll be DQ'd from the TdV forever. Also, if you get DQ'd from a single Jersey in too many competitions, you'll be DQ'd from that specific Jersey forever.

Also, if 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day, you'll be DQ'd from the Yellow Jersey. Too many users have waited until the end of the day to submit a bunch of reviews to the site and that's unfair to users competing.



Additional Tour de Vizzed Info:

Some CP actions only count as 1 per day. In other words, any action in the below list can only increase your Green Jersey points by 1:
Forum Navigation, Review Rated, User Referral Posted, Video Rated, Post Spell Checked, Visiting Vizzed, Screenshot Rated, Post, Game Commenting, Thread, Thread Reply, Chat Room Minute, Staff Forum Post, Staff Forum Thread and Screenshot Details Added.

These CP actions do not count toward the Green Jersey: Game Content.

Each day there will be a specific CP action which will be worth doubled the points which benefits the Red Jersey competition. Below is a list of which actions are worth doubled on which days this month:

Let the games begin!

Here we go, the first TDV of 2016! It'll be interesting to see who'll come on top this time. I won the last TDV, so I won't be going all out like I did during the Fall. I'll still try to get a bunch of jerseys though. Good luck to everyone competing this time around.

This is going to be fun, it looks like this TDV can be really active compared to the ones from last year, heck there's already almost 100 posts more today then there was any day I'm the October one. This is the first time where my main goal is my post count instead of the jersey, I hope to get at least 800 posts this month and if I can't win the blue jersey I hope to at least get 2nd place.

I love the new rule about if you get DQ'd for a jersey then you are done for that jersey for the month. I REALLY like that rule.

However, that will make decisions on DQ's more serious and less likely to happen for small infractions (from my point of view anyway). That's a big punishment for posting 26% in the crazy house or something

Still, love the rule and hopefully it will make the competition be taken seriously.

geeogree : I've been competing in the TDV since last Winter, and that rule's always been there.

gamerforlifeforever2 : I find that hard to believe but okay. It doesn't seem like it was properly enforced then. Maybe my memory of who was DQ'd and who ACTUALLY got DQ'd don't match up. Still, I like that rule either way



And this month I'll actually be able to earn points all month rather than being busy for a lot of it.

geeogree : That rule has in fact been there since around the time I joined, and it was always enforced, if a user was DQ'd from say the blue jersey on the first day of the TDV, they never showed up again on the leader board or got points again for the rest of the month. I got DQ'd from a jersey way back in October 2013 and couldn't get points for a whole two weeks.

zanderlex : fair enough. Like I said, my memory is probably the problem and not the system. I don't think I looked at the rules this closely last time though. This is only the 2nd TdV that I can say I have "competed" in and that is still a loose use of the word.

Nice to see the 2 new double CP actions. What a better way to enforce the use of a newly added feature.

Competition seems to be fierce at the start, but then again, school will get in the way of several competitors. Let's hope it doesn't die out too soon, it's refreshing to see so many users with a tilted username.

Looks like it's going to be pretty difficult for me to keep a top 5 spot in the blue jersey tonight. This month I might be busier than previous TdV's but I hope to be at least a little competitive on most Fridays and Saturdays of this month. Today and tomorrow are the days I'm most likely to be able to compete well. After that, I'll be busy, especially with school...

Well, it is that time of the year, time to see a lot of people competing with each other to try to get a TdV win.

Who knows who it will be, we won't know till the 31st.

Tomorrow is game submission already? I hope I will get the uploading down overnight; it seems that the server will not tolerate more than 5-6 uploads before it simply refuses them...

EX Palen : Yeap it should be a great way to get more users into actively rating music related stuff.

janus : Completely to my surprise, you started out with the lead and with only 1 point ahead of me! I honestly wasn't even paying much attention to you, I was more focused on gamerforlifeforever2 so you kinda flew under the radar for me. I don't think it would've mattered anyway though because it would've been pretty difficult for me to earn an extra point or to prevent you from getting as many points as you got.

This is definitely an exciting start to a potentially epic TdV since we have 3 users right off the bat with lots of points and only a few points apart.

Davideo7 : Do not get your hopes up too much. I am always starting strong but then "lack fuel" about midway for lack of things to say. Even though I admit not posting much in December to have "more to say" I do end up running out of interesting subjects. And even with my own forum, I can only create so many threads to at least get the yellow jersey.

But yes, unless you get into game guides, I do not believe you would be able to beat me for yellow and red

Oh well, at least once in my life I will be the overall yellow jersey winner! Let us see how long I can keep my lead...

Well, on the first anniversary of my first TDV jersey, I managed to get blue, while posting almost as many words as I did last year on the 1st. This was a good way for me to open this TDV. I still can't believe how many points 1st-3rd have right now.

I'm just happy to be in there at all with 4th place. I know I won't likely be getting into the top 3 with you guys and that's okay. I'll stick around and enjoy the busy month and if I get lots of points as a result then great. If not then so be it but I'm not going to let a busy month pass me by without getting in on the posting action.

Yesterday was going to give me a lot of points, but then I kinda slacked off a bit, and the next thing I knew, I got knocked down from 5th to 6th in a lot of categories. That's alright though, there's plenty more chances to get some jerseys.

Good luck to those who will be participating this tdv. Also for the team one as well I am sure that will be very, very interesting to see. I won't be participating as usual I'll just sit back and watch while the fun happens.

Yesterday was a great day, not just for the individual people, but for the entire site in general. Just look at how many posts were made, more than 700, there hasn't been a day with more than that many posts in a day since all the way back during the first few days of the July TDV, and there's only been a few days in all of 2015 where there has been more posts. From that, it looks like this month will be a lot of fun with some great competition.
