What's your favourite?

The only festival I have ever been to is the book festival which is ever September and I have gone there twice so far. I bought a few books there and got a few of them signed as well, it's kind of fun. I was there for like 30 minutes the last time I went two years ago.

Tell me more about that Book Festival

My favourite festival thus far is definitely the Maple Leaf festival in Carthage, Missouri. This most recent October, I was working in Missouri as a petitioner, and I spent quite a bit of time in Carthage. It's one of my favourite towns, and hosts the Maple Leaf festival, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

My first one was an Anifest. I thought of it as a con but it was a festival in a way. I still want to go to a real Japanese festival where I can wear a cute kimono also get to do fun things as well. I hope it happens one day. Because I really want to go to one.

In Puerto Rico we have "El Festival Del Pesca'o" = Fish Festival yes I know sounds funny and why the heck will anyone make a festival for a fish lol. Well, it is an island so fishing is quite a thing over there and so every year in different months throughout the island there are festivals were fisher man embark for a few hours and come back to dock and whoever has more wins a prize- I like this because they let you get in the boats with them and go off. They also capture sharks and hang them for display and it is prepared as food. There is music, arts and crafts from local artisans, seafood everywhere, and a lot of activities- the shark part sounds like animal cruelty but, these sharks are captured close to shore where many people have local food store, their home, and animals so we have to keep it safer somehow. I like the festival personally it is a good way to live off the land and help support local artists.

There aren't really that many festivals around where I live. There is a Fall Festival in a town near my town every year, but we moved further away from where it's held so we don't go anymore.

Without saying that it is my favorite, I usually enjoy Gay Pride. Despite all the, er, gay colors all around and the very... eccentric people walking down the streets, this is probably the only time when we both feel comfortable holding hands and kissing (decently) in public. It is hard to live in a red state, even if the capital is more "liberal."

Otherwise I used to enjoy the Festival d'été in Quebec City. The sheer diversity of artists coming there is hallucinating. And with the button you can see them ALL. Despite its constant price increase (I believe it is around $80 now) it is still a bargain considering the number of shows.

You shouldn't be ashamed of doing that stuff. As long as you love each other, then it's fine. And if people don't have the same morals and they treat you differently, then so what? That's their problem. You could be a really great person for all they know. Ever since gay marriage has become legal in every state, more people have become more comfortable with sharing their true feelings. What state do you live in anyways?

LunarDarkness2 : It is not a matter of shame, it is a matter of self-protection. We live in Idaho, the second most Mormon state and these people are VERY conservative. Mentalities take time to change; we would rather play on the safe side of things.

Ah, well when you put it that way, that does make quite a bit of sense. Do you have any plans to move anywhere to keep from having to do this over and over again?
