Once again, someone jumped over the fence of the White House and he was immediately taken down by security. They added spikes to the top of the fence this summer, but somehow, the man, who had an American Flag around him, still managed to jump over the fence. I don't get how this stuff keeps happening. You'd think there would be security around the fence so that nobody would be able to even attempt to jump it, but apparently they don't. What if someone from ISIS was able to jump that fence and had explosives on him? They need to have better protection outside the fence so that something like this doesn't happen again.

Here's a video link as well: http://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/video/man-draped-in-american-flag-jumps-white-house-fence-amid-terror-jitters-574910019942

What the heck...when things can't get more crazier it does. What was the man trying to achieve by doing this? Its sad to see that he got criminal charges because of this stunt he did. I can't help but to wonder what was going through his mind by doing this in the first place. '-'

Unbelievable. What should be one of the least accessible buildings in the whole country has this kind of protection.

Why the man did it is simple: there's people who feel motivated about entering where you aren't allowed to, and even find it funny to do. He could have very evil intentions and cause a ton of damage, so I hope they strengthen the security around that building.

It should also be noted that it's nearly impossible to cover the whole perimeter. Even if you put guards to cover it all, it's not guaranteed that their visual field will do the work, and security cameras are easy to be avoided. With enough observation, there will always be an idiot that finds the weak spot to enter there, and I say idiot because there are better things to do in life than achieving to enter the White House illegally, like for example trying to enter the White House legally.

On a side note, what the hell was he carrying? He had something in his mouth when jumping, seemed like a folder to my eyes.

He's the 2nd guy to jump the fence at the White House. You think they would have a lot of security, considering the president lives there.

Why the heck would you try to do that? Did he honestly think he could get into there? I mean, it's only the home of the figurehead leader of one of the most powerful countries out there. It's not like nobody would find out. At least he wasn't armed like the last guy to jump the fence. '-'

After watching that video...Wow. He just...jumped over. That's all he did. I thought it would be more complicated lol

I don't see what the big deal is about jumping the fence of the white house and why people are taking it as a serious offense , because after all the white house was meant to be "the house of the people" which is also why its a tourist attraction and has a open to the public tour. I don't really see how jumping the fence is a threat to the president directly because he has secret service men on him all the time and secret service men watching the security camera's around the clock so its not like they don't see the man climbing the fence, they just choose to wait until they jump all the way over to take them down. I really think the only reason people continue to jump the fence is because they gain instant attention and media fame for it and the bigger the deal people make out of jumping the fence the more people are going to try and do it , because they are looking for there 15 minutes of fame , stop giving them attention , they will stop jumping the fence . But this is just my opinion ...

The real question is: At what point does security overtake freedom?  People can walk on those sidewalks to take pictures and see the sites.  It's public space.  It only takes 20 seconds to breach a fence and you're up and over.  So, is it wasting time of guards to post security along the fence every twenty feet?  Or do you add machine gun nests outside the rose garden?  If the guy got taken down, he got taken down and that's the end of it.

How much more do you want?  He didn't make it inside the building or to the offices.  At what point is it too far?

I agree that some people only do it for 15 minutes of fame but we shouldn't ignore people who do it. What if ISIS or another group comes up with a plan to have random people, like low ranking members who don't know anything of importance, keep jumping the fence for giggles until finally jumpers are ignored? Then one of the bombers could jump it, be ignored, and blow up part of the white house. I agree that it's unlikely but if we ignored people who do it we might miss something important or it might lead to more dangerous things.

halinorxkadma : if 1 random guy can do it that easily why not 50 or 100 people?

I actually think it would be pretty easy to rush the white house if you had enough people who agreed to be part of it. Sure many could and likely would die but if your goal was to kill the president of the US then attacking the white house might actually be a way to do it. At the very least it would be a very symbolic attack.

Still, I'm not sure what the point of this really is. The guy climbed the fence and then got arrested. Way to make a bad decision buddy.

As Palen said earlier people do because it is funny and he will gain instant attention (which when I was reading this I had a good chuckle to myself). This to me is just as hilarious as the guy who sneaked in to Buckingham palace to speak with the Queen. Anyway I don't think it is something to be too worried about as he didn't get far from the looks of things. From watching the video even I could get in.

Just another day in the abysmal career of Obama. Another person gets through what should be the safest place in America. If we can't even keep out a crazy guy from the White House, how can we even pretend that we can keep illegals out? Or terrorists? Or be the nation that others look up to? The only good thing is that the Secret Service actually did something right this time. Thank you Obama, for being the absolute worst President ever. And that is saying something, considering we have had a few miserable Presidents.

Sounds like a fun sport, if you can jump the fence throw something, like a rock, jump back over and get away you win the game.
But come on, if they really wanted to keep the president safe they wouldn't have the president in such an easily accessible/open location.

I find this odd because of just how much emphasis the government put on terrorism; heck they terrorize us by broadcasting terrorism so how are they not as paranoid? If it was a terribly bad and we are in so much danger than why the heck can anyone jump the fence I mean is not like it's the White House where our President lives right? Just seems odd to be so poorly guarded. Jumping the White House fence seems more of a sport now.

EX Palen :   Simple to explain huh?  I beg to differ.  Our president right now is muslim and anti America, as are our next multiple candidates.  Granted, there are some extreme americans that do some pretty stupid things, but they do them for reasons most people miss because we are told by the main stream media to do and say what we are told on the tv

LunarDarkness2 : Getting the attention, mostly. When such an event happens the person doing it is sure to make the headlines everywhere; the media just LOVES this kind of story. Especially if he (are there shes?) is against the present president.
