So yeah, we just put up our Christmas decorations. We put them up while playing Christmas music (of course!) and we now have a few hundred little bulbs blinking in the living room and my bedroom. I can't help but be happy when I see those things, and I'm typically happy and perky enough as it is! xD Look out, Vizzed: the Christmas spirit has hit me, and I will now be 2x more annoying, guaranteed! Also we'll be putting up even more decorations over the next week or two. Yay! lol

Have any of you started decorating for Christmas yet? If so, what have you done so far? If not, when do you think you'll start, assuming you plan to decorate at all?

Eirinn :

... It's not even thanksgiving yet.

Not like I know anything about it, but isn't it a bit early and expensive to be putting up lights and stuff?

Nope not yet I always do mine on the 1st of Dec. I'm not even going to say isn't it a bit early since Christmas is literally around the corner. I am so happy! I can't wait for it! I'll be making some desserts. Also I will be staying around at my cousins place as usual. I remember back in the day that Christmas used to be at my house because it was big enough for the whole family and such...that changed when our family got a bit bigger and we had to have it at our cousins place again...I miss having Christmas at our house it was so much better than fun too if I may add.

We are pretty busy de-decorating the house after Halloween

We do some decoration, but not this early. Normally it should be around the 10th of December. We have a national holiday between the 6th and 8th, which we sometimes use to travel away, so no point in starting earlier than that.

We will celebrate Christmas at my aunt's place, probably the only place where the whole family can gather, and knowing the many things she has to take care of, she's not going to start until a week before or so, mostly because the house isn't used everyday.

We never put up christmas decorations in november, I think it's too early and I'm just not getting in a christmassy mood yet. It might make more sense to do it the 1st of december but since that's my birthday I'm usually busy doing other things. To be honest we don't really have a set date for doing it but it tends to be pretty late (sometime during mid december to possibly even just a few days before christmas) which I don't really mind, easier to get into the mood with it being so close by already

We don't really decorate for Christmas. We never really do all that much for any holiday. But my sister put some lights she ought in a lone bush to decorate it. Although we never took them down. Good news is, they are still working! Solar powered Christmas lights just may be indestructible...
My house is kinda divided on what we celebrate at that time. Christmas or Hannakuh. I don't know if we're doing both, or one or the other. But it's all good.

It always makes me happy too whenever I see Christmas decorations. As for me, my family still has our Halloween decorations up and we haven't even began taking them down yet

I'm hoping we can put up our Christmas decorations sometime after Thanksgiving. Once Thanksgiving is over, Christmas is practically all I can think about (besides fear of snow).

We usually don't do ours until December usually. My Dad usually does our outdoor lights a little bit earlier though so he doesn't have to do it in the snow. Last year we didn't even put them up because it snowed sooner than expected and just never went away so he didn't put them up this year. He'll probably get them up this year though. It's actually been pretty nice out lately. It'll probably end soon though haha.

yoshirulez! : lol Yeah, it's a little early, but we've been putting decorations up early the past few years because if you wait until December to do it it feels like they're only up for a few days before you have to take them back down. Also my mom and I are absolute Christmas nuts.

And no, putting up lights isn't expensive, unless of course you plan to put up a ton of them. I recently bought a 200 bulb strand for about $7.

Eniitan : That sounds like fun! My family always tried our best to keep Christmas a very exclusive day, and by that I mean it was always just my siblings, parents, and I. I've personally always wanted to make Christmas cookies, but it's just never been a tradition for us. However I do always get a huge batch of pudding, a fruit salad, and several pies, so it's all good. xD

EX Palen : Halfway through December? I could never wait that long. I've been trying to get them to start decorating for nearly two weeks now. xD I go to as much of an extreme as I can financially every Christmas, though that isn't nearly as much as I'd like to. I guess everyone has things they're passionate about, and Christmas is one of those things for me.

Zlinqx : Like I said to the others, I can't stand waiting that long. I need this season to last as long as possible. :3

A user of this : As long as there are presents and sweets, amirite? lol

SuperCrash64 : Thanks. I needed that Yeah it's super early, and my brother probably would slap me if he saw it, but I don't care. He used to get all worked up about people skipping Thanksgiving and decorating for Christmas so early, and I agreed. But as I got older I began to realize that time just moves by too fast to not indulge yourself in what you enjoy and love in life while you can. And since Christmas time and decorations make me unreasonably happy, I always rush to put them out as soon as I can.

Also, I may have kept three strings of lights strung across my walls all year long...and some stockings hanging up. xD

PacmanandMariofan : Isn't Christmas time great! My family doesn't decorate for Halloween (just because we don't get too excited about it), though we do hand out candy...and eat more than we hand out. xD So yeah, we didn't have any decorations to take down. We used to wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate, but now we start almost as soon as Halloween is over.

AppleJohnny : Thank you! lol Someone who thinks I have some semblance of normality about me. That opinion will change once you've known me for a few months, but I'll appreciate it while it lasts.

MoblinGardens : Oh man, I wish we had snow problems. Everyone I talk to around here watches in anticipation of the first snowfall and hopes it happens before Christmas. We don't typically get snow that often.

Brigand : But now you have proof. Quickly, take a screenshot! *eats Christmas pudding*

I haven't started to decorate yet. I usually wait until the beginning of December to bring it all out and put everything up. I do sort of want to decorate a bit earlier this year though. I love Christmas and I'd like to have the decorations up for a bit longer this year.
