I noticed a HUGE decline in activity since the end of our recent TDV. Not anything to really "stop the presses", but hey. Stop the presses. As an "active member"(this means stalking you all and lurking in chat until as of late) of close to four years I have NEVER noticed even after a TDV such a posting spree decline. Honestly, I saw only maybe three or so posts in a matter of a whole nightfall! Unless my eyes play tricks on me and several hours passed yet few posted? Again, I KNOW, after TDV or VCS that there would be a decline, but come on Land of V...this site is our home away from home. Our gaming commune and so much more. It won't hurt to be active for activities sake and maybe post like during the TDV as well as non?

Its not just from this TDV really, its been since the summer too, heck, I'm pretty sure that the last TDV was the slowest summer TDV ever, having less activity than some non tdv months and the months around that were dead as well. This is sad but it's nothing new and isn't really anything to do because you can't exactly post I there isn't anywhere to post, and there are less new places to post right now.

Zander has a good point, there aren't as many threads to post in, nor like there's many people that reply to those same threads so you can post more.

Honestly, it's being a very dead start of the month. However, we should take into consideration that most active members are facing school, and some might even be facing their first serious exams/tests, so they have less and less free time. Plus, some participants in the TdV go over their natural limits to compete, so they cool down for a bit after the competition is over.

I don't think it's something to be afraid of. As zander said, this level of activity even showed up in the midst of the summer TdV. The active users are growing up, they were juniors one or two years ago and they are now in high school or university, which are a ton more demanding. Other users have found a job, and others simply go missing because of reasons. And by the way, most users prefer to spend their free time playing games rather than posting, even the active members, so while the board isn't active, the RGR is standing strong.

There will be a little spree during Thanksgiving and such, but little more. People are taking care of their real life, and that's always a priority. This will be a slow month, no matter how you look at it.

Not sure what the problem is. I've managed to post over 40 times in the last 3 days without any trouble at all. Of course there is a decline but it annoys me how bad it is. It's like people post themselves to death during the TdV and then the 2 months in between they stop as if they are "saving up" for the TdV.

zanderlex :
EX Palen :

I'm not having any trouble finding places to post. I'm not sure why people can post 50+ times a day for a month and then 3 days into the next month there suddenly are no places to post. That is a crap excuse. I could roll through forums all day and find threads to post in easily. The problem isn't places to post but motivation to post. Suddenly without the TdV and jerseys to motivate people the desire is gone. Seems lazy to me.

Honestly this is a common occurrence. No more obvious time than after the summer TdV when things are just CRAZY then all of a sudden nobody posts until the next TdV because like geeo said "They are saving up" or catching up on their real life because they went so overboard during the TdV.

geeogree : Yeah, it's annoying. I think people just say that because they don't have several other people helping them sandwich post in some of the more meaningless conversation threads. Aside from what I posted above.

There's always places to post or opportunity for new threads to be made. People just need to make the effort!

As what others said, this is a normal occurence. But you're right, there does seem to be a larger than normal decline in posting than usual after this TDV. I've actually started posting more since the TDV ended surprisingly enough, I suppose thats becuase it doesn't feel as spammy for me now that we're not being rewarded for posting alot. It's a shame other users halt their posting after a TDV and only really start up again during the next posting event.

This actually has nothing to do with the Tour de Vizzed. The site has been suffering from lower than normal activity since summer as zanderlex pointed out and this probably has a lot to do with the site's traffic going down a ton over the past year.

Hopefully my feature ideas and plans for the next few months pick things up again.

geeogree : While I understand your point, I also must add that I've never found a ton of places to post in, be it TdV month or not. I roll through some forums and don't find any interesting threads, probably because I don't know what it's talking about (not wanting to bring up the America vs Europe excuse, but if I don't know about something, better not reply), and sometimes I just don't feel like replying, like you said, for not having enough motivation.

Then again, I come here after barely six hours from my last visit, and there are a ton more replies than this morning. It seems that threads like these boost people to not let down their posting levels.

We all have other things to do just tbh. I know a lot of the site have school, and the rest of you, who knows what you guys do.

Hopefully the site will become more active. Part of this can be blamed on the staff for our instability.

It'll hopefully get active again. Pretty dang boring without activity.

For me personally it is just due to school and now illness. (I always tend to be ill when coming back from school holidays). When I get home I usually have either homework or revision to do which I try to get done as soon as I can. It usually takes me 5 hours doing revision alone. (I don't do 5 hours at once I take regular breaks but that is how long it takes when doing all 4 of my subjects and I tend to not revise as much on Saturdays and Fridays)

everyone all of a sudden has other things to do this month but last month people had no problem posting 20+ times a day. Now it seems like people can barely muster more than a couple a day at the most.

Like I said before, when people complain that there is no where to post in the non-TdV months it just seems lazy to me. Take a few minutes and move through some forums and you can easily come up with 5 places to post in a day. I quite often only go to a handful of my favorite forums when I'm not looking to post a lot and I can manage 5 a day without too much effort.

I just don't buy the excuse that there is no where to post. I am fine with people saying they are too busy with real life to visit as often but many managed it during the TdV but non-TdV it's not worth the effort? Not a great excuse to me.

geeogree : Eh, I've started to post more after the TdV personally (because I wanna reach 1K posts). I only stopped posting for a few days because that was when I had to use a laptop with IE because my old computer's graphic card failed (have a new computer now ) and I don't like posting with that laptop . In fact, I sorta despise it.

And maybe people are just worn out from the TdV, so they lower their activity for the first few days. I mean, two months is kinda too much of a break, but eh. I get worn out from a TdV after the first few DAYS .

Either way, I'd like to see some more activity. Activity is nice.

It took me long enough to see this. I'm actually in the middle of a posting spree right now since I'm getting tired of the inactivity. Hopefully a few users can do some sprees during non-TdV months and successfully inspire others to do the same. It can be even more fun posting in normal months since you can post as much as you want in any forum without worrying about a DQ

#PacPanic2016 Oh wait, Pac-Panic is already a thing, an official game actually. Nevermind
