So I had heard grumblings about a Ratchet and Clank movie idea being bandied about awhile back but I wasn't sure what had ever come of it since I hadn't seen anything about it recently, but it turns out they HAVE made the movie and it's being released this coming April, 2016.

Starring some accomplished voice actors in James Arnold Taylor (Ratchet) David Kaye (Clank) and Jim Ward (Quark)

The movie also has some well known names in it with Sylvester Stallone John Goodman and Paul Giamatti to name a few!

I saw the trailer on Friday when I went to see Goosebumps, and I liked it a bit but from seeing the trailer, this isn't really the kind of movie that I want to see. It had a few funny scenes, but I might have to see the trailer a few more times before I can get into it, but other than that, I wont be seeing it at all in theaters but possibly later on.

I mean yeah the games had their comedic part to them.. But I don't think I like this Rachet, he seems almost like a different character altogether.

To be honest, I don't have a lot of experience with the Ratchet and Clank games. I actually would have preferred a Jak and Daxter movie, to be honest.

Still though, just as a standalone movie, this looks decent enough. Especially with the team of actors behind it, I'm sure it will be entertaining for what it is.

tbh, from the trailer, I really don't know if I'd like it much.  I know my brother probably will, as he's into that kinda stuff.  But it seems like a bland, crude "family" flick.  But hey, I judged "The Lego Movie" that way, and I loved that movie a lot.  So I'll keep an eye on Metacritic around the time of its release, and see what the critics have to say before making a judgment.

I mean I do see the arguments that it might not be that good. Heck, I'm not even a big fan of the game series, but I think the movie will be fairly entertaining just because of the different actors in it. As long as it has a decent script (which I'm assuming it does if some of these people are in it) then it will be fairly decent.

I actually heard about this. I'm skeptical, but that's only because of the general track record video game movies have had thus far. I hope for everyone's sake that it turns out to be good.

Although I do understand the doubts behind it regarding the whole "video game movies always stink" theory, I feel like in this case, that's not as much of an issue.

Usually the issue with these video game movies in the past is that they tried to make it into something that the games were not. For example, a mario movie set in a weird steampunk dark type world...I mean you knew the producers/directors had no idea about the subject matter or the audience. Also lots of times the movies feature bad actors.

In this instance the movie as well as the game series lends itself to your average "Disney Pixar" movie formula. Get a good recognizable cast together and tell some jokes that all the family will enjoy and you will make a few bucks.

I heard about it years ago from a YouTube when they showed a teaser trailer. I was never big on Rachet and Clank but Rachet seems off but hey the cast seems strong enough. I am more excited on the Sly Cooper movie and the phoenix wright anime that was announced

Well, usually when it comes to video game movies, they always seem to disappoint. I hope the same won't be said for this one. I've played a couple of Ratchet and Clank games, so if I saw the movie, I'd have expectations. If I do decide to watch it, it probably won't be when it comes to theaters.

More than likely they will find a way to f__k that up. Movies based on video games almost never turn out good. Super Mario Brothers,Double Dragon (more like so bad it is good),DOA,to name a few.

I know that people still seem skeptical about video game movies, but I kinda addressed this above. I believe that this type of movie will be less affected by that type of issue just because the nature of the game is kinda to be "rude and crude" type of humor. The kind of thing that can easily be adapted into your average "Pixar" type movie. With the strong cast, I feel like this will more so be the case.

The main issues with some of the movies listed above, were that the director had no idea what the subject matter it was that they were making the movie for, or who the audience was. Not only that, they mostly are filled with TERRIBLE actors that they dragged in off of the street.

It's hard to say if this will be good or not. But I can see this working out pretty well. Heck, normies everywhere may not even know Ratchet and Clank is even a video game! But with an all-star cast like that, and the fact this looks like a (back when they were good) Dreamworks movie, I think this movie will be pretty awesome!

That Super Mario Brothers movie was doomed right when I heard the bit about Luigi being Mario's son. Mama Mia....
