SuperCrasb64: That kind of problem sounds like something that could be related to the speed of your internet, and since vizzed has seemed to be a bit slower recently, when you put those two together, it could take a really long time.

For example, I have good internet at school, yet just for vizzed, it took anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute to load pages, so I should expect something worse than that if I was editing the post.

Ugh... I can't log into my main account (F. Starr), chat, or play CD based games? Seems like I chose the perfect user name. XD

   Hope this gets fixed... As well as... Stuff.

P.S. Oh, and what's wrong with Godaddy? I've seen their commercials, it's all women in bikinis or suggestive nudity, doesn't that show how trusting, efficient and competent that are?

Just out of curiosity. Is this problem also why I have not earned any Viz for the past two nights that I have streamed? I've been streaming a lot for the past couple weeks from Vizzed in order to save up for PS1 emulator. Will everyone who has streamed still earn their Viz once the error has been fixed. Or are we all just kind of SOL?

Its one of those things, many servers don,t work properly and vizzed ia a good site to play any game, its just one of those things. servers go down in games all the time

Hostgator and go daddy are both pretty bad with tech support.
Host gator seems like it has better tech but their parent company EIG fills their tech team with yes men that tell you whatever you want to hear to make you go away.

Unfortunately, they took over my host too... so I get the same awful tech.

So comet chat bar works now. What else has been fixed so far? I highly doubt the games are, but someone can check that out. That is at least one down and a few others to go...

For those wanting good news, I can tell that David is making progress, as we tried a netplay session and the game chat was restored. He also contacted me through CometChat, so it seems the issue is being sorted out slowly but steadily.

Seriously? : So, basically, GoDaddy is advertising like if it was Monster Energy? Sure, that's very trusting, and clearly showcases their vision of the world.

Laian : The games you've already played should work, the problem is about downloading games that aren't in your computer, or at least David said so. 

Sad thing is that this current issue isn't even the worst that David and this site have experienced with regards to GoDaddy's horrible tech/support.

I know that some of your are frustrated that certain functions don't work, but trust me David is MORE frustrated just wanting his site to work the way it's supposed to. Especially considering the huge cost of these servers in the first place. Every day it's not working right is possible revenue lost. So he wants it to be resolved more than anyone.

Just try to be patient everyone!

Vanelan : Actually I've always had great experience with Hostgators tech support. Out of the many times I've contacted them, I've only had 1 bad experience. Maybe they just treat me with higher priority though since I give them $1000+ a month in server fees

Jordanv78 : Yeah there has been a big traffic and revenue drop over the past few days

My host finally got back to me with instructions on how I can fix the problem myself but it's kinda too late since I'm already in the process of migrating the file server to a new host. The full migration could take anywhere between a few days to an entire week but I'll focus on finding solutions in the mean time to bring up some of the other services quicker. Here's a break down of the possible benefits:
-Faster Game Downloads
-Faster and more reliable Minecraft Server
-Faster and more reliable Chat Room
-A new netplay server which could be faster and more reliable than the current
-Enough space to potentially add more CD systems in the future without having to worry about upgrading

2 services that I was able to bring back up today include the game chat (and netplay chat) and the cometchat bar (for those who have access to it). Those services were previously hosted on the vizzed.co server but I've moved them to the vizzed.com server and after doing so, they actually function so much better now (response time is amazing)! When the new vizzed.co server is set up, I'll be placing those services back on vizzed.co but if it doesn't run as well on the new server compared to how well it currently is running, then I may just leave it on the vizzed.com server.

In the mean time, I'm going to try and get the CD systems up and running within the next few days. I apologize for the delay and I appreciate everyone's patience (those who had patience anyway). This was so sudden and completely out of my control.

Godaddy really needs to get their stuff in order. If the servers are as expensive as they are, shouldn't they at least have the courtesy to function properly? And you'd think that the tech support wouldn't be so unhelpful to paying customers, especially David, who has a lot of things hosted with their services. I swear, if I was ever to put up a website, I would go out of my way to avoid them at this point.

It seems that netplay chat itself isn't working right, although the sessions themselves, and the chat IN GAME is working just fine.

Davideo7 : No need to apologize for any delay. I have dealt with bad customer service before, and it blows when you get that one person (who doesn't necessarily speak for the majority of people there in customer service) who just doesn't care to be there at all.

I'm glad there's at least some headway being made with the migration! Thanks for the hard work on this!

NovemberJoy : Yeah I've paid them $10,000s over the years in server fees, you'd think they'd be a little more appreciative of my business.


Jordanv78 : Thanks! Yeah I'm actually kinda excited about upgrading to a new server because I see it being very beneficial for the site. Basically I'm merging 3 servers into 1 mega server which will also save me $200 a month.

Here's something to think about. The uplink for the current (or soon to be old) vizzed.co server is I think 100 MBPS (but it could be 250 MBPS). The uplink for the new vizzed.co server will have an uplink of 1 Gbps! That should translate to insanely fast game downloads. Also, the specs of the server are way better.

For those wondering, here are the 3 servers being migrated into a single server:
-Vizzed.net (rom file server)
-Vizzed.co (rom file server, iso file server, chat server, mc server, etc)
-Netplay server

The iso files will be transferred over to my GYR server and that server was upgraded to handle the increase in file downloads.

Yeah the netplay lobby chat is down since that's part of the same software as the main chat room but the netplay in game chat, as well as the in chat in the play game window, are both working and they're working way better than before.

The problems that i have been seeing seem to have gone away a bit. I was in a place that had worse internet then where I was yesterday and even then, vizzed was still loading faster than it was yesterday, even with the slower internet so it seems that has been fixes. Glad to see things can be sorted out without too many problems.

Well, I'm glad that cometchat's back up and running at least. Once the CD systems are back up and running, then everything will be perfect!
