evilcon09 : David had mentioned that this issue also affects people in the RGR that have the Game Accelerator Item. The "special" server that helps the games download faster is the server affected with the DNS issue.

I still don't know why this happened but I know what triggered it. After looking through my emails, I saw that Godaddy had done some maintenance on the server on Saturday night (10/17/2015) and ever since then, both domains on the server stopped working. It's kinda sad that they weren't willing to fix the issue for me when I contacted them, especially since they basically caused the problem. I'm going to try and contact them again letting them know that their maintenance caused the issue.

I always hate it when tech companies try to pawn off these sorts of issues as not being "their problem" even though their updates OBVIOUSLY caused the issue in the first place. It just gets old having to brow beat them into acknowledging the issue even though behind the scenes, they know that they caused the problem.

I can't seem to get in contact with Godaddy at all. I try contacting their live support and I've been getting this all morning "We are currently experiencing high chat volumes, all of our agents are busy assisting other customers, please call (480) 505-8877 for immediate help". I then try to call them and literally no answer. I guess I'm stuck having to email them which kinda pisses me off because I know it'll take them a while to get back to me. Sorry everyone but this issue is definitely out of my control


Jordanv78 : Godaddy has always had the worst tech support I've ever dealt with. They've done this sort of thing with me many times in the past. There have been a few times when they were literally responsible for something not working but went on to blame me for it. Also, a few years ago when the site was being DDoS attacked, they initially denied that the site was being DDoS attacked and blamed the problem on poor site coding. I'm so glad I switched to Hostgator years ago for most of my servers. The only reason I've kept 2 servers with Godaddy is because I wanted to be safe and have servers with 2 different companies (just in case Hostgator suspended my account for whatever reason). I currently have 4 of my servers with Hostgator and I'm definitely considering dropping 1 of my Godaddy servers and getting a 5th server with Hostgator.

It's also frustrating to have to invest all of my time into another issue a month after I had to invest a ton of time into a previous incident that took up weeks of my time

i tried downloading again today, still nothing, all i'm getting is "server not found" or "the connection was reset", i'm still pretty angry about this so i'll wait until the link gets fixed now

Davideo7 : Ugh, that's horrible. I'm sorry. Although, sadly I'm not that surprised. I've heard tons of horror stories about GoDaddy and their horrible service/tech support.

I also haven't forgotten about the time when GoDaddy was directly responsible for this site being down for almost a week before. Things have seemed to be way more smooth with Hostgator ever since you switched most of the severs. I do understand why you would want to keep a couple with another company, but maybe it is time to change to a different provider for those 2 still with GD.

Sounds like they should know their updates are causing mass issues if their tech support is so busy they can't even bother to answer your calls. Crazy.

I'm sorry for the trouble you are having to go through.

theweapon2 : Sorry man. I know it can be frustrating, but the issue is out of Davids hands at the moment until his host can help him sort out the server issue. Just try to be patient and David will do all he can to get it up and running ASAP.

Davideo7 : Uh oh....that sounds like big time issue. I do hope that it gets fixed soon. Keep on trying David we will wait till it gets fixed no matter how long...you have always found a way to fix something in the most unexpected of times. And I believe you can do this one. No need to apologize as well things happen. Meantime...I may not have a choice but to post I do miss posting and I swore I wouldn't on tdv months. I can't really play games so I guess it wouldn't be bad posting here and there while waiting.

Davideo7 : Hope everything will be fixed soon. It's ridiculous how GoDaddy never bothered responding to you. There's no reason for you to waste so much time with them if they not going to help you property.

Hope it can be fixed soon, I can live without the games since i don't play here anymore, but without the server and chats, there isn't much to do. Heck, I spend a good hour a day on comet chat, so I hope they can take care of it quickly.


On a side note, could this have anything to do with why vizzed has been slow? At least for me. Vizzed went down for me for a couple minutes about 5 times today while all other places worked fine for me.

Davideo7 : GoDaddy is notoriously bad for customer service, but yeah it's good that you have backups. Another forum I visit lost *everything* about 2 years ago when Hostgator terminated their account for "harmful or offensive material" out of the blue. The admin ended up switching to a host company in Austria. If you ever have issues with Hostgator, I recommend Dreamhost. I worked with an anime fansub team that kept their DDL releases on a Dreamhost server for several years without issues.

manicman66 : What's wrong with spell check on your end? It could just be a problem for you because it works differently based on things such as what device you are using, what operating system you are using, and the browser. I can't use spell check on my own laptop or phone at all anymore for months because it stopped working there, and I can only use it on school or library computers from now on. Never been able to use it from my phone or tablet ever either.

That's odd, I was having this exact same issue yesterday. Seems you've encountered it.

If I were to assume correctly, manic would be using firefox as I am.
If not something similar, as that's how I've encountered it.

Basically what happens is the spell check clicks up, and then- it refuses to load anything regarding the post.

Because of this yesterday I had to manually edit, and had Google do the spell check.


It's working for me today now, but it wasn't yesterday. Something probably to do with the server.

Firefox and windows 7 as always. And yes, as Supercrash64: says, I just encountered this problem yesterday as well. That's interesting! Quite a conundrum such as this should not be overlooked. If not the browser or Windows version as zanderman suggests (Which I believe not to be) Then this is some site error. It may be due to anything however, and not the current problems...
