Meet Trey Hill, the Canadian man who built a real Vault-Tec Vault door from the Fallout series. Him. like many others are really hyped up for the release of the new Fallout game and had decided to take his knowledge of the games to the next level and on a budget of just $400 had completely redesigned his basement to have a working vault door lead to his home theater.

Is it practical? It probably isn't, but does it look cool? Well, even if you aren't a fan of the series you have to admit that his basement looks so much sweeter now, and you have to admire his dedication.

Is this something you would put in your basement? Or somewhere more visible perhaps?

Bintsy : I wouldn't mind making something like that for a giant game room. Imagine having a massive door that's from any video game and when you go through it, you have your game room, even if its just a small one. That's like the game room heaven for people who love games too much bit I wouldn't mind one for that reason.

That looks cool and all but I wouldn't want to freaking lift and roll that door every time I want to go inside my basement. That just looks unnecessary to me. Judging on how the gif looks it doesn't even look like the door locks properly. If anything it just looks like he's putting a giant puzzle piece back in it's place.

cnw64 : It's just a door that goes from one room to another, most people don't actually want those to lock at all. If he wanted it to lock at all, he would have put something in the wall to help with that, but it isn't meant to lock. Also it's only like 10 pounds, it isn't too much of a hassle to move.

Ha, a door like that wouldn't even handle a tornado or a fire or something small, its all cardboard anyway so it isn't strong at all. It is possible for someone to make an actual working shelter like that but it would probably coat hundreds of thousands of dollars.

My girlfriend completely freaked out over this, she loves everything Bethesda, I've played a bit of Fallout, but to say she's played a lot is an understatement.
Kudos to this random guy, now he's just gotta build the rest of the vault and sell it to Bethesda so they can use it as an attraction.
