Vizzed RGR Plugin 2.40 is ready for download! This is the first official non-beta release to fully support Google Chrome after Google Chrome discontinued NPAPI plugins. In other words, if you use Google Chrome, this plugin upgrade should allow you to play RGR Plugin games without any problems.

For all browsers, this release also contains a ton of bug fixes, should run smoother and should also start up faster. This release most likely will become a mandatory download in order to play RGR Plugin games eventually.

Thank you so much David! I will try this out as soon as I can. I didn't want to change browsers for reasons so I patiently waited for you to fully do this, in hopes of playing rgr games again! And also my thanks goes to Tom as well! I feel a little bad not thanking him enough for this hard work that he does as well along with you. ^-^

Just tested PSX with this newest version, and the games work at 95%, still a bit of lag every now and then.

On another note, I still have the pop up saying that the plugin will soon be unsupported. Any clue why this happens?

On yet another note, the "Spend 0 Viz" option hasn't been fixed, the game loads while overlapping the ad. This can be specially troublesome if the ad has sound, which then overlaps with the game's own sound. 

Thanks David, I have be waiting for this update because I am only able to use Google Chrome to play games without any problems. I can't wait to start recording videos for the RGR and VGR again.

ahhhhh finally a official plugin that's chrome supported. can't wait for more update like a new emulator. and I'm hoping for a netplay for GB/GBC/GBA (and speaking of. I wonder if MAME netplay is working right). Thanks and hope for the next update.

Davideo7 : Any time I start the Auto run (since it doesn't start Normally) It creates a pop-up saying Vizzed Retro Game Room Service Loader exiting unexpectedly. Why? I am using Windows 7 and the Newest Google Chrome

Can we use fillters for all systems?

Is there a specific location the plugin needs to be to work?

I have chrome 45.0.2454.101m and Firefox 41.0.0.5738
and 2.40 Viz plugin in a folder with other video game
related stuff from my computer.

1. It's expensive because I don't have the skills necessary to do work on the RGR Plugin so I pay someone to do the updates. All of the updates between RGR Plugin 2.30 and 2.40 will probably have costed me $2000+.

2. I'll eventually make a Battle Arena but obviously it's a massive task and I can only tackle it if I can set aside a few months to work on it that I don't have anything else going on. Obviously the RGR and the Plugin are higher priority because they are what drive traffic to the site.

Vanelan : I asked Tom to put together a list of things so here's what he said:

"In new 2.40 installer since 2.30

-Added the Flash plugin architecture that uses two service exe's for Chrome (and likely MS Edge later)
-Fixed the keyboard input for a few emulators so that key presses don't effect the game unless the plugin has focus. That was for: 1964, FCEUX, and Gens
-Improved some logging related code
-Disabled auto-pause on lost focus for the few emulators we had which did that
-Made it so javascript can specify if the emu host exe runs with normal or above normal priority
-Fixed that nullDC issue you had that you mentioned some others did as well
-Added new code that caches the server file resource information for up to 24 hours & speeds startup time if cached
-Improved the plugins existing instance detection code to better avoid a false report about that. Probably very rare this would come up (if at all), but was questionable and I improved the code.


Assorted improvements were made since 2.30 outside what our installer includes, such as with the play PHP & javascript file.

-Updated to include support for Flash based plugin
-Made logging not auto-flush, which should have a nice performance improvement effect including emulator startup time
-Added log button
-Fixed it so tab version of play page doesn't have things misaligned (progress bar, game info tip)
and other stuff (would need to go research code diffs more)"

2. Basically, you want the battle arena to be a huge release, and not some terrible battle system. Wise(r) choice.

On a side note, I've read that Tom decided to get rid of the auto-pause when losing focus. I remember when Mednafen started doing that in January, seems it wasn't a bug to be solved but a solution to implement.

Any word on adding alternate emulators to fix some of the systems MESS doesn't emulate well?

I downloaded the new one and it say's a problem occurred with the Package while I was installing it. I am currently using the 2.25 version because the 2.30 won't work it just always loads the pop up for the game then it says Game Closed. But I can not even install the 2.40 version. Anyone with any suggestions?

I need help!!! My anti virus deleted Vizzed and now it says I have to verify my directory how can I fix this!?!

Hqx and scale fillters?

I noticed the bug fixes right away when I started using this version, the plugin works better now Now I never have any problems with the plugin on Chrome unlike most of the time before. Even with much earlier versions Chrome would crash my plugin once in a while. But now it loads just fine the first time and functions just like it does on my other browsers

Hopefully this will be more stable than 2.393. THe day after I downloaded it, Chrome kept crashing over and over again just as I wanted to close a tab...
