My sister has stole all of mine and my other sisters things all of our lifes but she finally stopped and she apparently started again. A couple of weeks ago .. every pair of my earphones were missing except my bluetooth headset because I had it in my bag. My white ear plugs and my gaming headset. Today my 16GB SD card went missing. I went in her room and asked her but she cursed me and said no she doesn't have it. What's funny though is I seen the white headset plugged into her computer and she was using them. I told mom but she responded with (I can't do anything about it in the middle of the night) ...

I don't understand why she feels she has the right to come in mine and my sister's room and steal all of our things when we are sleeping.

We don't lock our door because for starters she broke it again trying to get in with a knife which she succeeded ... secondly our room stays really hot so we have to leave the door open to let air come in...

Is this just me or am I the only person who has such a terrible sister. It's not just the stealing but several other things I would rather not mention here.

Bintsy : That's very strange and the fact that she goes to a extent like that is unnerving but look on the bright side at least she is not stealing you hard earned money and at least she isn't breaking them though your sister really shouldn't steal as it could become a bad habit

Dang she's crazy!

That's terrible. I don't get why she would do stuff like that, stealing is wrong. I'm glad I don't have a sister who steals. I hope that your sister will stop doing that, but hearing that she's been doing that, she'll probably continue to do it...

That sucks. I would suggest getting a better lock for your door but it sounds like she would break the lock or the door just to get through.

She needs a wake up call to how life works. That sort of crap doesn't fly when you have roommates. They'll kick you out.

Sorry you have to go through that. Not really sure what else you can do except keep all your valuable stuff somewhere that she can't get to it.

While you have 2 options:

1. Rig up your room Home Alone style,

2. Keep your room as organized as possible. Give everything its own place (headphones always go with your phone/computer, never just where ever), and even go so far as too take photos of everything everynight so you can compare what you have and did have to prove theift.

At any rate, with the history of theift your sister has, I don't know why your mom/dad doesn't perform room checks for swag. At the least do as geeo said and fix your lock, even if that means sweating balls during the night.

Revenge is a dish best served as a plate of cooked noodles and something slimey on your door in a way that when she opens it to steal your stuff that it lands on her head. Bonus points if you put hair dye on the noodles (that stuff stains clothing and skin so that is why it is awesome for this and hell to clean up (but it is worth it))

This reminds me of my sister but she isn't that bad. I'm really sorry to hear that your sister would steal so much of your valuable belongings. It bugs me that some people like to do that. I can slightly relate.

My sister and my brother both steal things. My sister is a teenager so that's not surprising for her, but my brother is only 7 years old. He's probably watched her steal and thought it's OK. Today I caught my brother trying to steal items that I have in a drawer in my room. When I stood behind him and talked to him he completely spaz'd and tried to put the many items back in the drawer to hide it, but it was super obvious!

My brother gets into anything he can touch, but my sister doesn't. She doesn't care to steal anything, just certain things like candy. Every time I have candy and I don't hide it extremely well, she finds it and eats it but we don't catch her. She pretends she doesn't do it but her voice sounds suspicious.

Both of them have ruined my sense of security and are probably a leading cause of my anxiety problems.

Edit: And I try to be nice to them but my sister steals anyway. She steals my mom's jewelry and things like that too. No matter how nice we are to her, she steals things from us and sometimes takes them to school. We can barely stand it anymore and are making her have therapy sessions every week to stop this madness.

Call me barbaric, but if it stays real dark when your sleeping, I think some caltrops would be a nice touch. It may seem a little extreme, but where reason fails, force succeeds. Believe me, she WONT do it again.

EDIT: Disregard this post if you have a history of sleep walking....

Bintsy : I have dealt with a brother that has stolen things in the past, and I too, have done the same.  I recommend approaching this situation gently.  There's a popular saying that the best way to defeat your enemy is to make them your friend.  I believe it strongly, and while certain situations may call for force, I feel that, in time, it is likely your sister will warm up if she sees you care.  I wasn't kicked out of the house for stealing.  I was reprimanded, but was also extended mercy for the wrongs I did.  I don't know how I'd be today if that didn't happen.  I know, at the very least, I wouldn't be as happy as I am today.

I also took the side of blaming my brother.  Sometimes I'd find out that I was to blame for losing something.  And I lost his respect as a result.  Yes, he was to blame for his rage at my choice.  But perhaps I could have prevented it by being a bit more kind, a bit more polite, and less addicted to the things that he stole.  Other people got hurt, especially my mother.  I am trying daily to be a better brother, and it is my hope that perhaps by being a better brother, I will have a better brother as a result.

I'll pray for you and your family!  I hope this situation gets better.

Thanks for all of your support. The funny thing about it is my mom won't do anything about it. Half the time my mom treats me pretty bad. I even asked her once why she treated me so badly and she responded with 'I guess I expect more out of you because your older' ... so what then? Just because she's the youngest she can get away with everything?

I feel treated unfairly because growing up I got spanked and grounded you name it for bad behavior and she's getting off scott free with everything. These are reasons why I wish I  would of never quit my job in the first place but it was only a toxic enviorment. Home is even worse though. I just forgot how worse. All of these reasons are also things of why I was looking for places to go or people to stay with earlier this year. No luck and still I'm at home with somebody who tries to control my life. Sad Story but it's out of my control.

Bintsy : talk about unfair. I hope that you'll be able to find another place to stay soon, since home seems to be a stressful place to live at... I really hope things will get better for you.

Bintsy : unfortunately that is the way families seem too operate. The oldest is expected to do the most and be the most mature while the youngest gets away with more.

You are not going to win if you are immature in your response to what is going on. The transition into adulthood from being a teenager is tough enough but to be stuck living at home as well makes it tougher. Much harder to exert control over your life and possessions when the people around you don't respect you.

Bintsy : Wow, that's sounds very similar to my sister. She used to do whatever she wanted when I was living with her. She stole from me all the time. Even tried to pickpocket the lock on my door. She stopped doing it eventually.

No problem for the support, I try to be helpful

I've been praying that you and your sister can get along in the future and that your sister will stop trying to steal things that are important to you. My younger brother gets away with almost everything too. But my parents constantly lay down the law on my younger sister XD

Good luck finding a place to stay. The way you worded the end of your post (the one I'm responding to) reminded me of AriaAngelDream's situation...

PacmanandMariofan : :o No need to worry about me leaving vizzed! That's not going to happen. Though my sister and mom control things I get to do what I want on the computer thankfully.

*jaw drops*
and i thought i had an annoyin sista, that is just... i feel bad for you.
TURNS ON WISE MODE:
But in the end young lady, you have to be patient.
My advice is to make someone propose to you and accept, get married, and get a new house. Problem is done.
TURNS ON GANGSTA MODE
If there no one to propose to you, pick a gun, go to some handsome lookin guy, and tell him :"MARRY ME OR I'LL SHOOT THE LIVIN DAYLIGHT OUT OF YOU"
Now problem is done.

peace
