I noticed lately that when I was posting and I want to embed a youtube video using the code listed on the left, it didn't work. Did something happen to make it not work anymore, or is there a different way for me to do it?

I ran into this same problem with my articles. I think it had something to do with the security updates made after the hacking incident a while back, because it was right after that when I first encountered the problem. I can't say for sure, but I'm really thinking that's what did it.

How are you coding it? Are you posting the full link between the tags, or just the video ID?

For example, here are two examples. The first won't work, the second will. *note: I replaced the brackets with * for the code, so it won't actually work.*

*youtube*https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WWzgGyAH6Y*/youtube*

The above won't work. However...

*youtube*0WWzgGyAH6Y*/youtube*

Should work. You use the numbers and letters after v= in the code.

If that doesn't work, then I don't have other ideas. Also, it's been a little glitchy, so if you try the second option and the video doesn't show up, just hit the 'Reply' button and you should see it via the reply view.

I've noticed that the youtube forum codes/tags on this site haven't worked in awhile now. Even when it was supposed to work, it was buggy a lot.

This actually started happening when I implemented security back in March after that hacker had found exploits on the site. The embedding continued to work on the new reply page but just not on the thread page. I had tried fixing it a while ago but wasn't able to figure out why it no longer worked. I just took another shot at it and was able to figure out what was going on and was able to fix it.
