Okay so everyone knows that there is some really obese people in this world but that's not the topic of this thread. Basically a year or 2 ago I don't really remember when I was watching a TV show and a woman who weighed like 700 pds and another woman that weighed like less than 100 pds got into an argument about eating habits and who is right and who is wrong, which neither of them were right because one was eating nothing and the other was eating everything.

So the show went on and the 500-700 pd woman said her goal was to reach 1000 pds ... she was married as well and I think she has a kid and her husband wants her to be 1000 pds as well.

Honestly idk what to think of this. I watched a youtube video on it a while back but I can't seem to find it right now because I have a slow connection. Do you think she will live long enough to reach the 1000 pds? I think if she lives to reach it she won't have long to live after reaching the 1000 pds. The reason this striked me as so odd was because most people don't want to be so big they just can't help but eating and this woman WANTS to be 1000 pds... I'm just like what :o ..

This was a conversation that came up in chat and I couldn't help but make a thread about it and see what everyone else opinion on it was.

I can't comprehend why someone would want to subject themselves to that though. Like...I'm sure at 1,000 lbs her bones would break from under that weight.
I mean, I could use a bit of exercise myself. But dang...Like heck I'd let myself get ANYWHERE near 250+ lbs. It seems every year or two there's a documentary on people like this. It's just...Kinda terrifying really.

no 8120 : Yeah that's her. I couldn't remember the exact details but thanks for reminding me. Honestly I don't think she will be able to live to be that much and if she does she won't have long to live after reaching it.

But, why though?
1000 pounds is too much strain on the body. Hell, 500+ pretty much means you won't be able to move much, or at all. Why would anyone in their right mind want to do that?
For a record? Just throwing away your life? I doubt anyone is going to see her and be like "Oh, hey she has a record she's so cool" it probably be more along the lines of "Oh god, that's terrible"

That's what I like to call insanity. I mean really, why in the world do you want to be the heaviest of all? But why do her family support her with this? That's just crazy and a dumb move. I don't think she'll life much longer after reaching 1000 lbs. Also she may not even reach the 1000 lbs. It isn't healthy at all and it is basically killing yourself.

A thing I suggest is calling the people of Obese to help this woman. She really needs it.

TornadoMudkip : This is the reason why. She didn't want to do the work to be healthy, so she wants to go as far on the other side as possible for attention. Her family supports her and other random people support her because 'we should accept all sizes because all sizes are beautiful'.

Before anyone jumps on my about that, I don't have anything against heavy people. I understand that staying thin, lean, in shape, is harder and harder the older you get. It is hard when eating healthy is indeed harder to do, especially when it is more expensive. I understand that exercising is not enjoyable for most people. I get it. I don't think that anyone should just lash out at larger people, insult them, etc. That is a horrible thing to do. But the fact of the matter is that it is unhealthy. Don't jump on me for not being physically attracted to it. Don't throw it in my face and say that I have to see it as beautiful. Do what you want, but making statements this drastic is just promoting that it is okay to be morbidly unhealthy and just stop caring about your health. That is the reason why I despise this so much. Not because of her size, but because she is making that statement to as many people she can, and she is just validating something very unhealthy to those who are just looking for an excuse to not put in the work to be healthy.

You want a way to drive up your healthcare cost? This is how you do it. You want to know how to further justify the insurance companies to make their immoral methods a profitable business? This is how you do it. Promote unhealthy habits like this, further contributing to obese related diseases that contribute to more healthcare issues.

Man, that is really insane. I've seen people weigh more than 400 pounds, but they were participants in the World's Strongest, so they were healthy. I can't imagine someone weighing more than double than that, even less if they don't stay fit.

There's also the fact of the height. It's rather normal for a guy at 6'06'' to weigh +400 pounds, but I doubt that woman was near him in height, so weighing more than double, and not staying fit, it's overly morbid. I don't want to insult anybody, but as we say here, it would be easier to jump over here than encircle her.

I must agree with carter, all this people that not only live extremely unhealthy lives but also like to promote their habits are despicable. We don't need a world full of unhealthy people. I'm not saying everyone should stay in shape either, since I haven't stepped in a gym for years, but at least let everyone else live their lives as they want. 

The worst thing is that the TV is interested in people like this, giving them further promotion. Like if there wasn't enough crappy TV out there that we need this people to appear on screen. If she's attempting a Guinness Record, call me when she achieves it, not when she's training for it, because as many people have said, is more than probable she won't make it. And even if she achieves it, I don't give a damn, world records should show good skills rather than unhealthy habits, so Guinness is to blame as much as TV.

rcarter2 : I get where your coming from and I mean nobody has the right to lash out on you for your opinion or your interest concerning that your not attracted to obese people. Honestly I have no idea who would want to be this big. I mean I am overweight myself but I can't help it due to medications which isn't an excuse I could be exercising more than I do now and trying to lose more weight but I am trying to eat healthier and take care of myself which is always good. The only thing is she doesn't seem like she is taking little care at all on her life... 1000 pds goal to get in the record books? She's throwing her life away and for what? a record? That is really dumb in my opinion.

I heard about this, and I think it's absolutely appalling. Why would anyone want to be that BIG? It makes absolutely no sense to me. Why would somebody want to be 1000 pounds? I do agree that she probably won't last long after she reaches that goal. I think she'll achieve it, but soon after, she'll pass away.

Even if she does reach 1000 lbs., I don't think she'd be breaking a world record. There have been people who have weighed noticeably more than 1000 pounds in the past, and that's the saddest part of all. Not just that she's destroying her body and her health in a misguided attempt to break a world record while trying to show people that fat is healthy, but her efforts will have been in vain.

And let's not forget how miserable her life must be at her current weight. For me, being that heavy would be like a living hell. Living every day being unable to do anything but continue to consume? I can't even imagine.

Okay,I think this woman is either sick in the head,an attention whore,or just plain f--king stupid. I do not think she put any thought into this at all. Let us say she becomes a half ton woman,then what is she going to do? She can't work,walk,leave the house,care for herself or her family,all she will be is the real life Slug. (an enemy of Captain America) If anything she should be begging for a lap band. (to reduce your stomach's capacity)

I do not know what her deal is,but her hubby wanting her to be fatter is just plain stupid. I mean,good for her that she found someone that can accept her,but he is just pushing her into diabetes,a lifetime of being her everything,and another reason why the world laughs at us.
