Ok, we have been a few rumors on Game Freak's next Pokemon game that will be a return to the Kalos region which they have decided to call it "Pokemon Z" (it won't be called X2/Y2) Link that it will be called "Z" instead of "X2/Y2".

Note, the rumor also state that Game Freak will mention little about Pokemon Z at E3 which is strange because this would be the first time since 2007 that Game Freak has went without a new Pokemon gameplay at E3, and every year, Game Freak has been doing a huge showing on every Pokemon game that is set to release later that year or early the following year.

Well, Pokemon will be reaching it's 20th anniversary on February 27th, 2016, so, maybe they might wait for a later announcement for Z to be released and possibly release it on the anniversary date. Although, if you look at it the 3rd game are normally released 2 years and a couple of months later since the other 2 games were announced, for an example, Diamond/Pearl was announced around early 2006 and Platinum was announced on May 2008.

So, this might seem the latest we have news about a confirmed Pokemon game, but we have a couple that are planned to be released late in the year or early the following year, this could be the same fate that "Z" will go.


If you have anyone Pokemon Z related stuff, post on here, but note, once Pokemon Z has been confirmed by Game Freak, this thread can be closed.

I really hope that this comes to fruition. I greatly enjoy playing pokemon, so this would be a good thing for me. I don't really care what the game is called, it can be pokemon brown for all I care, as long as it brings something new to the table, I could care less. 


I can't believe pokemon will be going on 20 years...it doesn't feel like that long ago to be honest. Nonetheless, I am hoping to buy the new 3ds, and this would be a great game to buy alongside it should it actually come out. 

To be serious, I do not want Pokemon Z. Pokemon X and Y in my opinion are by far the worst Pokemon games to date, and you can bet that Nintendo wouldn't be getting my money on that one. Just the new mystery dungeon game (which is unfortunately probably going to suck).  Come back with a Sinnoh remake, make it not suck, and you will maybe, just maybe get my attention.
On a side note, I hate Nintendo of America.

Hidden Phantom : Well, Nintendo hasn't been themselves recently for some reason (not sure if it's because of Sony/Microsoft or just the Wii-U did poorly) especially since 2012. So, you do make a point though. I still don't mind all 6 generations of Pokemon, change is nice, but some people has their own opinion which is cool.

Well, they aren't rumors. My friend has a Pokèmon handbook and Pokèmon Z is in it, it's name is Zygarde and it's a geen and black snake-like creature and its the guardian of time.

Leunith : Zygarde is obtainable in X and Y, similar to how Giratina was obtainable in diamond and pearl. Everything is still a rumor. We're not looking for a pokemon, but for rumors about a whole new game.

Basically what I have been seeing on a lot of places regarding "Pokemon Z" is that Game Freak is seeing on how Super Mystery Dungeon turns out and more likely release the game (Z) sometime in late 2016. So, this means they would skip 2015 and it's the first time that we haven't seen a main Pokemon game release in a year since 2008 and it's only happened 3 other times, in 2002, 2006, & 2008 (North America release)

I think Nintendo and Game Freak is waiting till next year to release "Z" because they really don't want to start Generation VII too early and they want to release a good amount of games before the series's 25th anniversary in 2021, I think this is what they might be doing...


*Skip a release in 2015.
*Release "Z" in 2016.
*Release the first pair of Generation VII games in 2017.
*Release a Sinnoh remake in 2018.
*Release the 3rd game in Generation VII in 2019.
*Release the first pair of Generation VIII games in 2020.
*Release a Kanto re-remake for the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon series in 2021.


They may do that, but that is mostly my point of view, they may do something different.

Ok, I have been looking a lot more rumors, this time I have seen that when they release the next movie (Movie #18, Hoopa & The Clash of Ages), Game Freak will more in likely announce Pokemon Z. They also have a possible new Pokemon (#722) leaked from the movie. Game Freak said that Pokemon Z will more likely be the next Pokemon game after Super Mystery Dungeon.

Game Freak hasn't made any official decision regarding Z at this time, but news will spill out sooner or later.

I'm not really too excited to be honest (yeah that's a first for Pokemon games), Pokemon X and Y were the least fun to me in the main series of games so far, and I don't really see a 3rd game being worth buying either way since I doubt they'll change things up that much.

It was kind of to be expected though. Conisdering how Xerneas and Ylvetal are both X and Y shaped, an education guess would be that Zygarde which is Z shaped would star in it's own Pokemon game later. Since it's also a bit weak compared to other legendaries I'm going to assume it'll obtain a mega evolution.

Zlinqx : The reason why I said that "Z" is next because the next main Pokemon game is going to be a Kalos location game and the game is going to be centered around Zygarde, and I think that Game Freak might do some legendary Megas as well with Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde.

I think the thing with 3rd games is that they make a lot of changes from the first pair of games that the player didn't like, with this delay between X/Y and Z, that tells you that Game Freak is making a lot of changes with the Kalos region when Z is released next year.

We won't know till the time comes.

Recently at the 2015 World Championships, Nintendo World Report interviewed the Director of Consumer J.C Smith, they told Smith if Pokken Tournament is the only game planned in early 2016 and Smith said "No", he state that Game Freak has a much bigger game planned for early 2016, and also, they have hint that the next game has something to do with "Flowers" and how the ending on X & Y turned out, means we could be seeing Z in the horizon.

Based on other rumors, Game Freak may made the game announcement official sometime this November (hopefully earlier if we're lucky).
