Yep, there was. This Friday, to be exact. The name? Fiesta del Trabajo (Work's Day or Workers' Day roughly translated to English).

Yep, here we celebrate a day dedicated to work by not working at all. Well, it's not like we are famous for being dedicated workers, but still, having a national holiday for that feels silly.

I don't think there is many national holidays this weekend here. There was a certain celebration and they were giving away tons of 1 dollar alcohol but other than that it stays pretty quiet around these parts. At least this week.

Back when I lived on Yavin IV, there were a lot of celebrations on May 4th.

We'd have a lot of Bantha Steak soup and wash it down with Blue milk.

Haha, Eidetic.

Memorial Day in the USA. Not a complicated one.

Not sure if there's anyone now but we do have some days.

Most are minor though, and aren't really that widely celebrated I think the most popular holiday that is somewhat uncommon which, isn't exclusive to Sweden but is mostly celebrated in Northern Europe and I think is the biggest here, that is Midsummers Eve. It's a tradition, and is a holiday both for religious reasons as well as having to do with "the harvest". Today it's really just celebrated mostly for traditional reasons.

When I say celebrated, I mean that most people don't actually celebrate it but people know about it and we are reminded it exists each year lol. There's actually been talk about making it the official national day instead of the current one so that goes to show that it is still kind of considered a major holiday. My only tradition is that we usually eat herring in my family which we don't really eat much otherwise. Not sure why, just a random family tradition to acknowledge it's a thing in some way XD

Uh...I don't have any national holidays this weekend (at least I think), but most of the time, there's a holiday for everything! So, I'm sure that soon USA will have another holiday. What would it be...Labor Day?

Not in the United States, at least not on the Federal level. However, I am aware that it is a civic holiday in Canada so I will likely see many of them during my road trip.
