I disagree with this. Your wife should not work out harder now than she did before she was pregnant. If she wasn't exercising regularly before the pregnancy then she shouldn't do too much exercising now. Sure, go on walks and such but nothing too strenuous. [edit]If she works herself too hard all of a sudden she could lose the baby. Not saying it's overly likely... but it's not worth the risk. Plus from the pictures I've seen of your wife she looked to be a pretty normal, healthy weight already that I doubt she needs to do much exercising. [/edit]


There is nothing wrong with nursing. My wife nursed Gabby for 14 months. Do it as long as possible. It's the healthier choice.

What I was talking with the bottle-feeding is this. Your wife should use a breast-pump to fill bottles with so that other people can take turns feeding the baby but you need to start right away and be consistent. We started right away but weren't consistent with it and Gabby wouldn't take a bottle after a couple months. That takes its toll on the wife.

I don't know much about babies and all, but I know that it's a very difficult job, being a father.
I know you'll be a good and responsible father, but yeah, don't let your child stay on the computer for prolonged periods, and always keep an eye out for him/her.

I actually just thought of a new questions that most parents get asked...

are you hoping for a boy or a girl? Obviously you hope your child is healthy.... but beyond that do you have a preference?

and does your wife want a boy or a girl?

I don't care what I get but both my wife and I are sorta hoping for a boy. I definitely want a girl but I'd prefer the oldest child to be a boy and than the 2nd to be a girl. But like I said, I really don't care but it's just a preference if I had to pick one.

And I can't find the answer if you already answered this question... do you plan to find out the gender of the baby? [edit] nevermind... I found it. The ultrasound tech can be wrong about the gender, but it's pretty cut and dry most of the time. Boy parts and girl parts look very different.... even on an ultrasound. And in my experience if they couldn't tell for 100% sure that it was a boy or a girl then they wouldn't say either way.... so hopefully you get someone who is just as honest.

Yeah, I only want to be told the gender if they're 100% sure because I don't want to be expecting one gender and get another.

yeah, especially if you have a baby shower before the baby is born and decorate the babies room and such.

Congratulations! The strangest thing about this to me is that I had a dream a few nights ago where you and Deanna were holding a baby.

Also, I highly recommend working out.I watched a program on some place (on a news channel or Natgeo) where it says that, during creation of the baby, there's a cell that copies some of the DNA of both parents. IE: If you were fat as a kid, the cell will copy that and your kid will be fat as a kid. However, if the lady the baby's in is working out while pregnant, it will stop copying, because it thinks that whatever the lady is doing is what is needed to do to survive in the outside world.

While I agree that she should continue to exercise she would need to be very careful about what she's doing. The exercises she was doing previous to the pregnancy and become difficult or dangerous now.

it doesn't require a big bump to stop her from doing things.... she needs to be smart about what she does from the get go. But yeah, the big bump definitely makes things tougher It's really funny to watch them try and stand up from a chair and stuff
