I want to invite you guys are you were active participants last season. So, I think you have earned the right to have first crack at helping me try this. 


I want to test something before Pre-Season starts in a couple of months. What we will do is do a full 17 weeks of simulated NFL games using the 2015 schedule. That means the winners will be determined by a random choice between the 2 teams, so even I will not know who wins. I have not decided if I will use a Madden Sim, or just a random name generator to see who gets the win, but one way or the other, I will not know who the winner is before hand. 
What I want to do is see how a head to head match up type of format would work compared to last year's winner takes all type format. 

Example: Last year, if you went 10-6 on the week, that was your record for the week, and it counted towards your total. However, this year, I ant to try head to head. So, you would have an opponent for the week. Let's say it is me versus MattyIce. If I were t predict the games for the week, and go 11-5, while MattyIce goes 8-8, then I would get the win and be 1-0 while MattyIce would be 0-1. If both players go 8-8 or the same record for that matter in their predictions, then they would get a tie and be 0-0-1. 

I'm looking for at least 16 people, including myself for this. However, if I can get 32, I would be absolutely thrilled. Point is, I have to have multiples of 4 for this to work, and I need at least 16. 

This will start shortly after I get 16 participants. Or,  if it gets more interest than 16 people, when we have a multiple of 4 without further interest, up to 32 players. 

This is not an official league event... but it will be a test for a format that I hope to use for this coming season's league. 

Anybody may join, but those I summoned above will have priority.

Barathemos : I'm not even around all the time for the TdV. Only time I can get on the internet right now is if I go to the library, or at work, and I don't have time for the library because of work. This is just sign ups... Can't you read?

I have decided I will try this out, since the format will be changed a little bit. At first, I wasn't planning on even participating this year because of how horrible I did last year. I mean I did good in the regular season, but got blown out in the playoffs. It was so embarrassing to the point where I wasn't even going to do it next time. But maybe my luck will change with this new format.

For the record, the draft may be at the end of this month, but preseason is still 4 months away. However, I do understand that its been on your mind for a while Caleb. Sign me up!

   Sure, I'll try it out. I'm interested to see how it works out with that format as opposed to the old one. 

Barathemos : if you want to point the moderators towards a thread that you think is spammy the wrong thing to do is to post in the thread calling the thread spammy. Use the report feature and let the staff decide whether or not to close the thread. All you've successfully done is cause unnecessary conflict.

MattyIce : If the PreSeason is 4 months away... and the regular season takes about 4 months... we may have to shorten this to the first 11 games of the 2015 season, and then use Madden to simulate the playoff results. Hmmm... Alright. You're signed up. 

patar4097 : Thanks man. This will just be a test, so in no way will it be official. However, PM me about this. I would like to add you to the staff ( which is just me and MattyIce ) for this coming season. You are active enough, and it would be a great relief to us if you'd be willing to help.

If we don't get at least 12 people ( 16 ideally ) , this test won't work. I was hoping to take advantage of the Tour de Vizzed with sign-ups, but it's not quite working the way I was expecting it too. 

I'm closing the sign ups in 2 weeks, give or take a few days.

jparks34 : MattyIce and myself have discussed your playing this year, and as of right now, we will have to decline your request to play this year. You did not finish out the year last year. 

If we absolutely need people when it comes time to start the Pre - Season, then we will give you a summon. But, until then, sorry; we are not going to let you play this season. 

And this is just a test for this season. If we don't get enough people that we approve to participate by the end of the month ( we need at least 8, preferably more ), we won't be holding this test over the next few months.

barberiant : You are not established as a reliable member. You are still ranked a newbie, and have less than 10 posts. We do not know that we can rely on you. Sorry, but we can't take you. 

I understand, didn't really think through all that.  Maybe next year.

barberiant : Get established as a member, and get some posts under you belt. Participate in next Net Play tournament when this Bomberman one is over. This just a test, so there is a time for you get to established and be accepted into the actual league for this coming season. Last year, we had registration during the Pre-Season, so that will probably be when we hold sign ups. 

pacman1755 : Will you join this? Also, me and MattyIce would like to extend a special invitation into the board. It would be mean that you would have to do some work to help the league run smoothly, but we liked your drive last year, so we want to extend an invite to you.

No thanks, I'm not going to be interested in football until the Giants have a few consecutive wins.
