The music of the 80s, perhaps the best as catchy music and pleasant songs Italians and foreigners, pop or rock, I love the music of Queen, Gun's Roses, Scorpion, AcDc, and some Italian singer like Pupo, Riccardo Sheets, Umberto Tozzi, but all the songs that I started to feel in my youth are the ones that I love, not that the music of today is not good, a bit like our parents loved music 60 years.

Still remember how many tapes were bought and kept in the car for example, I was recording the songs and then listen back a lot, today's event with this technology that seems to have no limits to what he can do listening to the same songs but with a cleaner sound and perfect, but you know what? The cassette or walkman I miss.

The 80s were for music the new beginning with the events of electronic music and instrumental, which did not exist before.

So lovers of the 80, out in the open.

This catchy tune from 1988 was one of the things that came into my mind.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttz8otMXE2I

Queen and AC/DC did their best stuff in the 70`s in my opinion. Guns and Roses for me personally, was more of early nineties thing though Appetite for Destruction was their best album.

As for instrumental music or electronical, it did exist before. Think of Link Wray for example. And for electronical, Suicide and Kraftwerk. And even them were not the first ones.

I don't remember much about that era as I was born in 1983. I do have some good souvenirs (mostly in French) like Desiree (Voyage, Voyage), Coeur de Loup (can't remember the artist) and traditional Quebec music I would listen to with my mother's parents.

Didn't AQUA start in the '80s? I love their stuff (even the infamous Barbie song). It's just so weird and fun that I can't help it. I think my favourite songs of theirs have to be "Roses are Red" and "Doctor Jones".

I also like ABBA, though I think they were more 1970's music. Still, they had a record release in the 1980's that had Super Trouper on it, which is one of my favourite songs, so I think they might cont?

I also love Cyndi Lauper, which I blame my mom for. She's a fan and was singing songs by Cyndi Lauper ALL THE TIME when I was little. I was born in 1987, so I have no memories whatsoever of 'of the era' '80's music, but doesn't mean I don't like it.

I happen to love 80s music event though it came out before I was born. I love Michael Jackson, Guns n Roses, and AC/DC music the most from that era, but there are plenty of other songs from the 80s that I love. If I tried to name them all, then I would be here typing for awhile lol.

janus : I discovered 80's rock when I was a very young. My parents love 80's music so whenever we'd go somewhere, I'd usually hear something from that era.

gamerforlifeforever2 : That's also how I got my love for 80s music. I know I grew up at the end of the decade, but I still remember my father playing vinyl of Genesis (Invisible Touch) and Supertram

I like some 80's music. Depends on what it is. But I like some music in a lot of genres from that time.

Mainly though, Some Hair Metal, New Wave, Michael Jackson. Some Madonna as well.

I love most 80s music. Some of my favourites:

Grandmaster Flash

NWA

Queen(!!!)

AC/DC

Joan Jett

I could list more but that list would take up most of the page. Those are just my most favourite.

I loved music of the 80's although I wasn't born then they did fall to the 90's like as others said here I loved ABBA, of course there was Michael Jackson, Jackson 5, queen and many more. The 80's was truly the golden times of music as Tama has stated and forever will be of all time.

That's why music nowadays is not as good as it used to be. It is lacking a lot of things that used to be there. like teaching people what life is about, giving encouragement, inspire etc. But, it isn't there anymore..

The 80s were the greatest decade in the history of music. I couldn't possibly be biased though. I have a decent collection of vinyl, cassettes and CDs and 90% are from that decade. I literally love it all. Except country. Radio had Madonna and groups like the Go Gos who were really punk influenced but mainstream. Then of course you had the best years of the Ramones, FEAR, Black Flag, and others in that genre. G.G. Allin was at his peak of raunchiness there too. Metal had Priest, Maiden, having great albums, and of course the Bay Area thrash scene was born that gave birth to Exodus, and some other posers like Metallica and Megadeth.  Yo! MTV Raps was on for an hour a day and it was good too. And of course glam rock was born and died. It had a nice run though.

The 80s were great for music. You had metal bands like Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, ect., and had an exceptional list of calmer music like Hall and Oats and Tears for Fears. I loved 80's Metallica with albums such as Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and Justice for All.
