If you want a really challenging hack then play Pokemon: Dark Rising but be warned it is very hard so you will die a lot

If you want a really challenging Pokémon hack I would highly suggest you try Pokémon blue kazoo, I'm currently playing this game yeah its a first Gen hack but to clue you in on its difficulty I just beat Giovanni under the rocked game corner and his entire team is mid 50s that's insane for being the 4th gyms city, also a lot of the routs are different adding to the difficulty,its a fun but hard hack which requires a little grinding. One more thing this game is said to be impossible to nuzlock and just from playing this game normally I would have to agree on that.

If you're a big generation 2 fan like I am, then you'll love the "Pokemon Crystal: All" hacked version of the Pokemon Crystal game. You can catch any Pokemon by walking in the grass...but of course as always, it depends on where you are, what time of day it is, etc. Its really hard because its tough trying to find all of the Pokemon, but its fun to play because the trainers ( especially the gym leaders ) are a lot tougher to beat. You can play pokemon light platinum because it is had but not extreme hard like dark rising. It fun cause it has a good story and you can catch a lot of legendary pokemon with arceus as the mascot of the game with it appearing time to time to stop battles between other legendaries and the game has two regions making a total of 16 gyms 2 elite fours and in the end the pokemon championship tournament where you will fight a very famous character from the pokemon series.

You should try out Pokémon Glazed. I have just started this game, and it is actually pretty hard. I also heard from the people in the chat that there are 3 regions to play in the game.

You should try and pokemon hack game called pokemon - touhou merry's version. Its a hack, and this game is really different to other hacks. Its hard as well, but maybe not as hard as the other hacks people have posted here. But, it is still hard in its own way. Its really interesting game to play, and I think you would like it as much as I do.

Since you are looking for challenging Pokemon hacks, I would highly recommend that you try out Pokemon Light Platinum, Flora Sky and also Pokemon Liquid Crystal. These are some of my personal favorite hacks that I've played, and they are a step up from your average pokemon game where difficulty is concerned. Dark Rising is also another good option to check out as well.

Out of the games I've listed, I'd have to say that Light Platinum offers the most content since it does have a second Elite 4 as well as the majority of all legendary pokemon for you to capture after beating the game. It is challenging, but it isn't impossible if you are willing to put forth the effort. Hopefully this helps, if it isn't your style, then there are plenty of other alternative options for hacked Pokemon games to play.

I would give Omega Fire Red a go, I'm playing through it right now and loving every bit of it. Fire Red was my first ever Pokémon game and to play it with the new level of difficulty makes it feel just as challenging and fun (discovering Larvitar in Mount Moon has been a high point) as when I started out on it as a boy.
