if you were held prisoner and they gave you a choice either torture the person you love most or be subjected to the most excruciatingly horrible torture imaginable! would you torture or be tortured?

i honestly don't know what i would do i think i would sacrifice myself and be the one to get tortured rather then my loved one! what would you do?

I think I'd honestly rather do the torturing.

Obviously both situations suck, but I know the limits of people I love, so I know what the most they can take is.

It's better to leave the burden on me to do what I can in that situation, not anyone else.

It doesn't help that I have no idea how bad the torture I'd be subjected to is. I'm tough, but I'm not the toughest person in the world.

Assuming in both cases the pain would be the same (excruciatingly horrible), I'd choose to be tortured.

Hopefully it's just pain, and nothing more.

If I incurred brain damage through the process, or my body was ruined, I probably would not want to live afterwards.

It sort of sickens me that some people would choose to torture other people over them getting tortured, but I guess it kind of makes sense. That doesn't change the fact that I would sacrifice myself to be tortured. I can't stand the thought of torturing people. It's disgusting. I don't even understand how people who torture others can handle it.

If I were in this horrific situation, I would have to say that I would rather be tortured because I could not live with myself if I even tried to even hurt the person I love most in the slightest. I will admit that I'm not very tolerable when it comes to pain, but I'd be willing to take all the torture in the world to keep my loved one safe.

I know I'm not a very strong person. I know this for a fact. But I also know that I live with excruciating pain every day of my life as it is, and I would not wish to cause pain to those I love. I would probably die from whatever torture was dreamed up, because let's face it, that happens more often than you think...but I would so much rather go through that than inflict pain intentionally -- if unwillingly -- on anyone that I love. Spare them, take me. I'll take that choice any time, as terrifying as it is. 

Heck, even if it was someone I disliked or someone I didn't even know, I'd take myself being tortured over being the torturer. My heart hurts just thinking about intentionally hurting someone else. I couldn't. I'd rather go through the pain myself.

I would rather be tortured. I am willing to go through any means of pain to save a loved one from it. My heart is just not made to torture somebody even if I had to pick between the two.
