All right, you may or may not have seen the thread I did just before this. But this is the one that one talks about. Okay, occasionally when I am playing a game or watching TV or whatnot, I see BIBLICAL references or values or just things that make me think.
One of the first games that I have really seen to have a BIBLICAL portrayal of sin is Metroid Prime 2. The ing is what I am referring to here. The ing are creatures of darkness, they infect pretty much anything and take control of any being. In my opinion, that very accurately shows the power of sin. And do you know what the best way to defeat an ing is? Hit it with light. Kind of like how the best way to battle temptation is with the Light of GOD's word. The luminoth are a good representation of Christians and our battle against sin. Before samus showed up, the ing had practically won, even with some of the brilliant things that they did, it just was not enough. Kind of like us people. No matter how hard we try, we are not good enough to defeat sin. Like the luminoth, we need a SAVIOR. Thankfully, we have one. Jesus crushed sin once and for all on the cross and HIS battle with the grave. That brings me to another reference, and actually, a whole slew of them.
Recently, I have been watching Megaman Nt Warrior and the next series Megaman Nt Warrior: Axess. In the first series, Lan and Megaman eventually crumble the destructive www. The next thing to rise in their place was grave. Just reminds me that I don't have to fear the grave, cause my KING beat that a long time ago. One of the more interesting things I found was in the next series, Nt warrior Axess. This reference regards the dark chips. I don't know about anyone else, but I saw a good comparison to the effects of sin and addictions. The dark chips give netnavis power, but eats away at their soul data, ultimately destroying them. (Wow, that reference is almost too obvious!) The dark chips work for the netnavis a lot like sin works in our own life. Most things that become an addiction promise pleasure, but ultimately eat away at you and everything you have. I could take an obvious sin, but we'll take something a little more subtle. Eating for instance. It's an area that I myself have struggled with, and still am. When you eat the right amount, it's good for you, it gives you energy and whatnot. But there is a temptation to eat too much. When I listen to that temptation, I am giving it power in my life, and I could slowly become less and less effective as a man of GOD. Gradually, doing basic things would become harder and harder because of my weight. I would look and feel bad about myself, I would be grouchier, I'm sure. Basically, it would just eat away at my health and eventually destroy me.
Well, I hope that I did not bore you too much with my rambling! Feel free to let me know if you got any interesting references.
