Hello, people from the land of V! Green here with another Skewl thread! So, this is a very simple question here. In the whole world, they are two different types of School: Public and Private. Which type do you go on? Public or Private? I go on Private schools because, here, unfortunately, in my country, the Public schools aren't as good as private ones, and I'm thankful so much that I am in a Private one. So, do you go on Public, or Private schools? Also, in your country, which one is better? Public or Private?

For my first year of college, I went to a private university but next Wednesday I will be starting at a Public city school. In high school, public was much better but in college, so far private was way better.

I am in a public school and have been in one all of my life. The school I go to is the closest school in the area I live in, located right outside of the small town I live in. Honestly, I feel private schools would be more clean and sanitary than the public schools here. I have never went to a private school, but I have visited a private college before, and it was quite gorgeous and completely clean. Despite that, I'm glad to be attending the public school I am in now because of how friendly most kids are and how helpful teachers try to be over here.

I'm at a public school. There's nothing wrong with public schools, but I'm in a bad neighborhood, so... yea. At my school, there are some great people, great teachers, and the... terrible ones. I don't like going to school most of the time.

greenluigi : I've been homeschooled pretty much my whole life, except for preschool and kindergarten. Personally, I'm proud of it. I may not be in a school with all the other kids and all that, but it takes discipline and hard work to study and do all the stuff on your own, without the benefit of others that know the answer when you don't.

Ever since I got into 1st Grade, I've been in a public school, and I don't plan on ever switching to a private school. Mainly because we don't have the money for a private school.

I go to a public school. Sure private schools "might" be better....but they're too strict which means no fun allowed and a school without fun is just prison.

I'm in a public school right now, but I fully expect to go to a private, non-secular college when I'm out of high school.

When I used to live in Mexico I had to go to private schools because 1) public schools over there are rather dangerous  and 2) public schools do not teach you well enough to be able to get a competitive salary, also my parents wanted me to learn English so they sent me to private bilingual schools so that I could learn both languages. But now that I live in the United States (since middle school) I noticed that public schools aren't so bad, the difference between private and public that one can first notice is the amount of students that attend private schools. You can notice that public schools will tend to have a lot more people that private schools, I went from a class of 6 students in my grade to a class with several hundred students in my same grade. Public high schools can be pretty good in the sense that they get you exposed to more people and more things, they will tend to have many classes, even though private schools can have a lot of classes they might not have as many teachers since less teachers are required in order to teach less students, in public schools there can be many teachers so one can get exposed to many points of view and many stories about their study paths, so it really depends on you whether you like private or public schools, and if you talk about college its a different story, it depends on the location of either school, I want to attend a private college because they are known to provide more financial aid than public schools even though they have higher tuition. Public schools nowadays are starting to acquire more AP classes so the difference in quality of learning is more up to the student who is studying rather than the teachers themselves. I am not too encouraged to study too much but even then I want to be able to enter a very good college out of my own will, it really does depend on the person to make the best out of the public/private school experience.

I've gone to public schools my whole life. And I can definitely say that private schools are the better options here, though with that said I like the public school I currently go to since most of the teachers are great (besides a few...) and for the most part I get along fine with the people in my class. Though the school is somewhat poor and there's are problems with the funding and one of the previous public schools I've gone to (the one closest to where I live) was awful.

The public school system used to be better here but it's gone through a downwards spiral the last few years and while it has been discussed a lot the government hasn't actually done much to turn trend.

I've always wanted to go to a private school but there's simply never been the money for it or there are literally years worth of lines to get into some prestigious ones that don't charge a fee. I will be applying to one of the best private upper secondary schools in my city (which doesn't charge you to go there) and probably the best public school in my city so I hope I get into one of those.
