Hello There,

     After talking in the chat with the only other person on this earth who cares about this series, I decided to see who all knew about Clannad and Clannad: After Story?  So, have you ever watched the amazing anime, or played the visual novel? If so, what'd you think of it? And the real question: How many times did you cry? O_o 

They are some big fans of this but sadly they aren't very active anymore. To the point now I really loved this anime sooo much it did make me pretty depressed a few times but of course it would cheer me back up with it's funny jokes or Sunohara getting beat up by the other characters. Embarrasingly enough this anime made me cry about 5 times.

Seen it, hate it, end of that.

It wasn't amazing and quite boring I saw a little bit, yes. But I still don't care to continue.

I've seen Clannad and After Story. I was close to crying almost at the end of episode 18 of After Story. Clannad is my second favorite anime behind Nagi No Asukara.

But yeah, Clannad is my favorite anime! I cried so hard at the end because I don't want the anime to end like that!

farmboy8 : I watched some of it, but I concluded that the pace was simply too slow to keep my attention. I watched half of the original and most of the after story. The after story is some seriously messed up stuff, I've rarely seen an anime that is willing to go to the kinds of places that it does.  So for that, kudos to them.

Clanned....to me its just that anime I don't always talk about. Because it depresses me a lot of how the show was. Now I am not saying it is bad. Its just one of those emotional animes with a great storylines to it. Not a lot of people may always talk about animes like that one. some people like it and some people don't that's how it is sadly. '-'

farmboy8 :  YEAH!!! Clannad fans on Vizzed!!! Clannad is one of, if not my favourite anime. It is an absolutely beautiful masterpiece. The characters are awesome, the story is so deep, the artwork is fantastic, the music is terrific, and it is so darn philosophical. I could probably type on for many characters about Clannad, (I can't now because I have to go to bed ) As for the Visual Novel, I've seen a large chunk of it on youtube and It's pretty good. How many times did I cry? I don't know-a bunch probably. I've watched Clannad and After story twice, and I know for sure I cried during specific scenes, especially in After Story. For anyone who hasn't watched it, go and watch Clannad and After Story, you won't regret it. And if you do that's your problem.

Clannad was fantastic in every way and somewhat sets the standard for what I look for in a good anime. The character design, development and voice acting were all fantastic. The anime was a tearjerker for sure. I found Clannad to be a little bland at times but it was still great. After Story on the other hand kept me entranced the whole time. The series is one of my favorites without a doubt.

It was one of the first animes that I watched after I got back into anime (about 5 years ago) I started by watching inuyasha and then added it to the list. I was new to the romance category of anime as well as the school life category since I had grown up watching only shonen categories. It caused quite a shock on me on two certain parts of the anime, first time I was well speechless, then the second thing came up and well I cried (still the only anime that has made me cry to the day) and it took me a while to absorb the information of the plot twist (let's just say I refused to continue the series for a couple days), honestly I liked the way they screen played some of the scenes. I loved it when they switched the story to the one of the lonely girl since the world was somewhat beautiful and the story conveyed was great. I still think it is a really great show. I never played the visual novel, I watched the movie but it was really random compared to the full series. I recommend the series if you want to watch a romance or just something different, it's not just plain cheesy but a cute and funny story. I love Nagisa's parents my favorite characters and couple out of the whole series. Also the OVAs are pure gold, they keep me from fantasizing different endings.

I really don't get the appeal. It was actually one of the s***tiest animes I've ever watched. The pace wasn't an issue, I like slow paced anime. It wasn't the story, in theory, it's an interesting concept. I guess it was the character design and animation that turned me off.

I dunno. Maybe I'll have more thoughts about it as a whole once I watch After Story, but it wasn't funny, it wasn't sad, it never really made me feel any emotion at all, other than disdain for the characters and their development.

It was pretty much in a word, mediocre.

I did watch both, and honestly I liked them a fair amount. The first season felt a little wonky to me though, they had the whole character of Fuko built up in the first season and then just kind of forget about all of that, so it felt just a little pointless. Granted she does cause a lot of what happens to happen in After Story. The first season also seemed to be a bit slower, which I didn't mind since I liked the story behind all of it. After Story simply takes it up to the next level and gets a bit more interesting. I felt like it was a nice way to get accustomed to the characters first and have a grasp of who they are before making things complicated. I did tear up a bit near the end, and did need to take a break about half way through After Story. I felt like it was an easy and relaxing anime for the most part however. It's not my favorite anime of all the ones I've seen, but I still think it has merit.

I have heard of Clannad, actually. I want to watch it, because from what tiny bit I've heard it sounds like something I would enjoy, but I have no clue where to find it or where to go so I can watch it. It's not on Netflix now, is it? If it is, I can watch it on there, but the rest of my options are pretty limited.  

It is a romance anime, is it not? I don't typically like those, but this one seems interesting. I have friends who have watched it and keep telling me that I should, but NO ONE ever tells me WHERE I can go to watch it. Buying DVDs is out of the question, I have no money and I won't buy something if I am not sure I will like it anyway. XD

I personally love the series. I watched the entire show and I was and still am completely enthralled by all of it. The soundtrack is probably the best soundtrack out of any series I've watched. It is also one of the few stories (fictional or not) that has actually led me to tears multiple times lol.I played through a bit of the visual novel and liked it, too.
