My favorite actor overall now has to be Tom Cruise, I just loved his performance in Edge of Tomorrow and even though I already liked him a lot before that, this movie really pushed my love for his work.

My favorite actor is Johnny Depp. I think he was great in all his movies, and it all started with Edward Scissorhands. Robert Downey Jr comes in a really close second for me, though. I like his Iron Man movies and I really liked both of the Sherlock Holmes movies.

My favorite actress is Jennifer Lawrence for obvious reasons...and I'm talking about the Hunger Games. I just think those movies were just so well done, and she was great as well. I also recently watched a movie where she starred with Bradley Cooper. Its called Silver Linings and Robert de Niro is also in it. Its one of those movies that has a little bit of everything.

Tough one to answer because I think I could list three of each that I would easily say are my favorites of each gender. By your question tho I see I have to narrow it down and that is hard. So after some brain frying thought about it I would have to list these as my favorites:

Pascale Bussières is an excellent Canadian actress. I enjoy her movies as she usually plays a strong-willed character that doesn't let others belittle her. Plus, for those who are attracted to women, she's not afraid to show off.

On the international scene, Angelina Jolie is one of my favorite actress. She saved Maleficent from disaster. Let's be honest, the faeries were much too dumb to be worth our attention.

On the male side, Morgan Freeman is excellent. I love his philosophical tone and his emotions.

I gotta give it to my man, Denzel Washington. Every single movie I've ever seen him in is a great movie, John Q being my favorite. Glory is pretty amazing as well. The only exception for me would be Mo' Better Blues. Still a good movie, John and his brother Nick Turturro were hilarious, and you get to hear Samuel L. Jackson giggle like a schoolgirl. Also, I'm pretty sure Denzel was really playing that trumpet. Awesome.

As for favorite Actress, I'm going to go with Kathy Bates. She has amazing range. She can play silly characters like in Rat Race or Relative Strangers, in addition to scary characters like in Misery. She's played Queen Victoria in Around the World in 80 Days (The Jackie Chan version). I love just how in character she becomes.
