I don't completely understand all of this, but I'm pretty sure (using my own limited knowledge) it should have it's own category. I agree that it just seems to make the most sense.

Davideo7 : I think it should just be removed completely, since when you buy an online game from something like steam...there is "used" option to it you buy it and it's really new, the only other option would be collectible if you got a directors cut or something among the likes.

Adding a new category would be fine to me, but if you do and it has options on the side it should only be listed as New or Collectible.

sonicthehedgehog57 : I definitely wouldn't consider a digital code a collectible since once it's redeemed, you throw away the card and all you have left is a digital copy of something that isn't physical. Collectibles have to be physical, I wouldn't consider something digital to be a collectible, especially if it isn't transferable.

I think it should show the values of digital games separately since they have no value unless you sell an account. Similar to steamdb https://steamdb.info/calculator/76561198152009919/
If not all digital games should have a value of 0$ so you can still find others who have the same game as you.

I feel they should be their own category, it makes the most sense to me. If we have them as am entirely new section we can have it simply more accurate to what they are, codes. I'd personally use a simple "game codes" for it.

Davideo7 : I have already removed many of these from the price guides for some games since the digital listings were actually brining down the overall "new" game value. It seems just easier to remove these as us price guide managers come across them. Otherwise, it will be a lot of work to comb through each game and move digital items into a new category. As it would with adding another category for almost complete games. Things are great as they are now since it seems that every time I work on price guides I always find games that the staff hasn't looked over yet. Working on the price guides is already an overwhelming job because of our vast library of games, and to add 2 more categories, we'd need a lot more staff on that role then.

kramer4077 : I still think we need a 4th 'Incomplete' category though because there can be a huge price difference between a game having the Box but no instructions and a game not having the box at all (and currently both of those listings would go under 'Loose').

Davideo7 : That "incomplete" category might be good, but will the code be able to pull it off EBay and put it into that category? And how about the listings that Price Guide Managers have already moved to one of the three spots that are there now? Will we have to go back and look over the games we've already worked on? I was leaving most of those incomplete listings in the "loose" category unless the price was closer to the "complete" listings then I moved it there to keep the pricing consistent. Thanks for any info you can give

The 4th category for Incomplete would be cool, but for the price guide managers it will be a tedious task because they'll have to search each individual listing by clicking the link to go to the ebay page and reading the seller's description. The links sometimes include "doesn't include manual" or similar quote.

As for the digital stuff, I think either a new category 'Digital', or they should be removed from the VGR pages.

I don't like the idea of removing them as it's still useful to have them for something like the "play online" feature or the ability to be alerted when someone makes a thread for the game.

However, I don't think it should count toward someone's game collection value, as it isn't part of their collection, rather it's part of their "game library". I'd say either remove the price feature on them and let them be listed on the collection page still, or give them their own page (which is likely too much work).

This is really difficult to decide...

Maybe we should remove Digital copies but I think a new category is not a bad idea either.

Like Kramer said: If we decide to put in more categories like Incomplete and Digital, Ebay might not be smart enough to place everything right at once and so more work for us to do. It could work though if all the Price Managers check much or hiring more Staff to help us for the task.

Removing all Digital games doesn't look to me the best idea ever. I think there are users on Vizzed who actually search for these Digital Games. And besides, it is still the game but Digital.

I've honestly no idea what the best option is. Perhaps trying to add the new categories and we'll see how that goes.

Davideo7 : Since you can't re-sell a computer game that's already registered in most instances, I don't see a reason to list the completeness like you would a physical game that could be resold. These should either have their own "digital" completeness or leave that as blank/NA

I think it depends on the code card.
Some code cards, like for example the old pokemon eon tickets, were multi use.
And some code cards, again like the old eon ticket, are still collectables within their own right even when used.
It's a tricky subject really, obviously for the one use only code cards you'd have to consider whether or not their appearance would hold any value to a collector.
I'd probably just have digital as its own category like others have said, but maybe make special exceptions for things like Pokemon code cards

I think this depends.

Steam games, should be called digital and have their own section.

ROMs you don't really own so should have nothing.

iOS games such as Grand Theft Auto should be called digital.
