So, story time.

People complain about the moderators here sometimes for being unfair, and banning them for "no reason". Whether this is chat, or it is on the forum, or the RGR, or whatever.

Well, grow up, they aren't the worst out there.

I use another forum/community for baseball fans, and today, a banning made me come to the realization the mods here are more lax than pretty much any other mods. (this is both good and bad, but let's focus on the good for this post)

Today, a moderator on this other forum banned a user for saying "You're stupid." and nothing more. He wasn't a re-reg. He wasn't a long-term issue. He just said "You're stupid." and got banned.

I have seen a dozen users on here call each other stupid. If you were on that forum, you'd be banned already.

And unlike Vizzed, there are no "one day - five day bans". Everything is a "permaban". They were permabanned for calling a person stupid. And the sad thing is, the person actually was stupid.

So, there's your #LeggyLesson of the day.

The mods here may not be perfect (they aren't). But they aren't the worst, because they haven't banned you for something that shouldn't be bannable.

Well most times when people get banned here, it's discussed... that's probably why... Jus saiyan

and let's be honest here the people that do actively get banned can't really complain, they're usually the type of person that makes the site worse anyways.

The folks that don't get why they're getting banned are the same folks who mess around in class and when they get called out and get in trouble, have no idea why they're being picked on by the teacher.

It's baffling.  Own up to what you say and do and things are fine.  I'm sure I've walked the line once or twice but I have never done anything to purposefully hurt someone.  It has all been simple truth and that's what probably has saved me once or twice.

Ban away, mods.  Do your thing.  You're mods because Davideo trusts you to make good decisions and keep the site in good working order.

I still think that the mods should be a little stricter. I mean, really, a person (not saying names) has done so many bad things that they should be perma banned by now, but they aren't. That's probably due to the fact that they are elite, but that's still no reason. So yeah. far from perfect. but I agree with you, i'm glad that they don't ban people for calling people stupid. That's stupid.

I got permabanned from NeoGAF for saying I don't want to buy The Order 1886, and from 4chan's /v/ for complaining about the Wii U's battery life.

Just shows the site's bias, and how awful moderators are at other places.

Never, ever go to those places, ever. They're awful places for awful human beings.

Sure, the mods here should be a lot stricter, but nothing that's completely not supposed to happen happens like on those other sites.

Vizzed really is a lot nicer site than anywhere else. Although I hate pretty much any "vote and rate this user" systems. You won't find a nicer community let alone moderators. That's why I stick around here.
