Firstly, what does having a mother have to do with having a middle name? That implies that the father always chooses the first name. No one has to have a middle name, in fact the practice didn't become popular in English-speaking culture until after the American Revolution.

Secondly, you don't have to be Christian to understand what an Archangel is or who Michael is--in case you hadn't noticed, the culture is inundated with it.

Thirdly, my middle name is Lea, but is pronounced Lee because my parents are insane. Dad suggested it, mom said the Lee spelling was the boy's spelling and so my dad suggested Lea... you know, instead of Leigh, the normal feminine spelling.

Mine is an obscure Chinese name that I'm not sure I can get on here. It's part of my sister's middle name and my grandmother. Techinacally, it's my real Chinese name, but no one here can pronounce it, so I just stick with my American name, as that is my real American name. Can't put it up here, though, because Viz doesn't appear to have a Chinese function, and I forgot how to type it out anyways. Maybe I scan it and put it up if anyone really cares.

Just as a joke, my friend's middle name is "X". She's a girl, and its only "X". It doesn't stand for anything, just X. See, when her parents moved to America from China, they didn't get the concept of middle names and thought that no one would see or care, so now all of her mail and stuff is addressed to ____ X _____.
