This is what i see outside of my window right now.

I'm in Canada, so perhaps i should be a little more prepared for stuff like this, but I'm shocked because it's
November! Snow usually waits to fall like that until around Christmas.

Inspired by this horror, I've opted to create a thread about no one's favourite weather event, snow. Share your stories and recount your experiences folks, because winter's coming, and it'll hit hard (unless you live in Florida)!

Snow... I wished it occurred more often, in general. My personal preference is that some sort of weather event always be present in the current area of my location.

I don't hear much about snow accidents, but when I do they're not usually too harsh. So this friend of mine, who I'll refer to as Bob for this passage.

Bob was driving down the freeway, and traffic was slightly worse that day. While turning over the bridge, Bob lost control over the vehicle. The cause of it being black ice. Bob had crashed into the railing. In the end, Bob wasn't wounded nor hurt in any serious manor, and lived happily ever after.

I really don't have any interesting snow experiences because it rarely ever snows where I live, and when it does, it is usually the type of snow that doesn't even stick to the street. When it does snow though, it doesn't last very long....I really hate the fact that the weather says 80% chance of snow showers but then all I end up getting is freezing 20 degree weather with no snow.

Last year though, we got a couple of good snow days and missed school, we even missed a day because it was too cold outside...ridiculous right?....but it happened...

I'd like to get a few good snow days this winter, but I wouldn't get my hopes up....

Surprisingly, it's been snowing down here in Tennessee as well. Which is very rare for November. It usually comes around in January, since we are in the south. I actually like snow, but only because it's an excuse to get out of school.

I am hoping that I don't have snow when school is in session for me. Last year, I've had the worst luck with public transportation and my stubborn school wouldn't close down until the spur of the moment. I ended up standing for the bus for at least two hours in the freezing cold. Hopefully there will be better luck this year for me and everyone else!

Despite the record of snow that hit here, which resulted in a handful of school days cancelled and delayed, I still love snow. I was acting like a little kid when I saw it was snowing over here (it didn't last long though). The only thing I wish, though, is I don't want as much snow as there was last winter. Because of all the snow, lots of school days were cancelled, and they all have to be maked up, which resulted in a very short Spring Break =3=

Just like Razor, it rarely snows here, and when it does, we often have watery or icy snow instead of real, good snow.

There are however some moments when the streets are full with good snow and then everybody goes crazy here. Kids play outside, adults and students have trouble with traveling as there is not enough salt to melt all the snow on the roads, the trains often can't ride, and most people hope they can ice skate on natural ice. If the ice is thick enough, we even have an 'eleven cities track (elfstedentocht)' where people have to iceskate through eleven cities in one day, but it only can be done when the ice is thick enough but that rarely happens. Our current king also did this undercover when the last one was.

When it snows and I have free time, I build a snowman with my brother and sister, or we go sledging somewhere. At school, I sometimes throw snowballs with my friends, although there are a lot of crazy people who throw really hard and unfair, so I don't do it that often.

Well, juul and I both live in holland, and both in North-Holland, So we pretty much have the same thing.

Last year, there was no snow at all, but then 2 years ago, it was crazy snow, and really good snow too.

It rarely snows, and if it does it's often watery, but if it's good snow, it's really good.

Holland likes rain more, pretty much.
Also it snowed in egypt recently

What I got from that pic, ox lives in an apartment next to an H&R Block. Ox lives in my the same general area as me so we probably have the same snow conditions so our streets looked about the same as that pic.

Now for a snow story. My buddy and I were coming home from down town. It had rained earlier that day, and then the temperature dropped and turned to snow, so the snow had powdered the road, also, the rain from earlier had frozen so it was black ice with a dusting of snow on top. My friend was driving and I was in the passenger seat. He was driving me home, and turned onto my street. We hit a pitch of black ice and did a full 360 degree spin on the corner and the car stopped inches from a stop sign and someones fence, as the car had popped the curb. It was the first intense moment I had ever gotten into while being in a car, and I hope it was the last. There was no damage to the street or the fence or the sign, and the car was perfectly fine to, but man was it intense.

Boxia : I'm use to snow in November
I currently live in Alberta where we are use to getting snow as early as SEPTEMBER. So snow in November is a nice change for us. But then again the snow is going to stick around until early May for us so that sucks.

I'm in Michigan but from Hawaii so it took a while to get used to the white stuff.  My drive to work is about 25 miles on freeway and the past two years I've kept track of number of cars in the ditch when I drive to and from home and work.

Usually 30-40 cars end up in the side of the road because of bad driving and bad conditions.  Snow isn't terrible as long as you're not texting, emailing, and you have both hands on the wheel.  It gets dangerous because other people don't follow those rules and they take out various vehicles with their own.

I don't mind snow.  Shoveling it is good exercise.  My dog loves to play in it.  My 9 month old baby will get to experience it soon and it makes for a pretty backyard when I'm dry and inside the house.

It's not my favorite but it's not bad.  Snow to two months would be nice.  We usually get it November-ish to March.  Yuck.

It started snowing in my area two weeks ago. It's been snowing pretty hard here, and there's been strong winds. I heard about someone here whose door got slammed because of the wind.

Even though it tends to snow a lot here during the wintertime, I don't have much interesting experience with snow. I've been sledding many times but there's nothing to say about it.

The one interesting experience with snow I can recount is last winter. In January and late December, It was almost constantly snowing so hard, so much with really cold temperatures. Once the snowing calmed down, it was still negative wind chill. Because of all that happening, I got an extra week of winter break. And it was not fun since I couldn't go anywhere.

Oh ya snow stories almost forgot that...

Oh here's mine, About 2 years ago I was in a car that got T-boned and I was sitting in the seat that got hit. Main cause of the crash was snow and ice. Snow was bad so seeing was bad, ice had it hard to stop. So we went for a left turn, and someone walked into the crosswalk, so we tried to stop back, but we ended up in the middle of the road, car in the other direction couldn't see us and hit us.

It hurt a lot. But ya that's my snow story, and why I will almost ALWAYS hate the snow

Rarely snows here in Texas, but shocked it snowed in North Texas. In November of all months when around this time of the year it's cold, but not freezing cold.

You live in Canada and you're shocked its snowing in November? What part of Canada do you even live in, because I live in Canada too, and it's pretty darn common for it to snowing before Christmas even rolls around, as early as September at times!

I generally have no gump about the snow. All you gotta do get your warm clothing on when you're going out, prepare yourself for the even-more-hazardous-roads, and have a plan to get your Christmas shopping done before the snow even considers hitting, unless you enjoy feeling like a sardine in a giant can via a mall or shopping establishment.

Man, I hate snow.

It's dumb and cold and it gets in the way of everything. Except for school.

Oh, no. It'll be a cold day in hell when my school district calls a snow day. Literally. Like, there would have to be that much snow. The only thing that will warrant the school closing is if it's too cold for the buses to start. And these buses are alive, or something, because they always start. Always. I'm convinced that even if Earth fell out of orbit and went rocketing through deep space, Jefferson County wouldn't call a snow day. They would hold field trips on the frozen oceans and stuff.

This year has been weird as far as weather goes. For the first few months of spring, it didn't rain. Not one drop. But then, it dumped all the rain on us at once. Like it was charging a mega rain bomb or something. It rained for a solid week without stopping. Same thing for winter. It snowed for the first time here yesterday. And it was terrible, there's like two feet of snow on everything. But still, no closing schools here, oh no... That would be too convenient.

It's good to hear he wasn't hurt in any manor, but was he hurt in any manner?

I don't know why, but I find spelling errors to be funny . Please don't take offense to it as I'm just working at my daily job as a Grammar Nazi. Move along .

MCJungleKitty : Hahaha, that is funny. Either way, he wasn't hurt in a manor, nor any manner. (Not the first time I messed up spelling "manner")

I still don't have any snow though.

thecrzyguy : We had snow for about 2 weeks before it disappeared. Now it just rains... I hope we don't have a green Christmas here, living in Minnesota . It'll be the first green Christmas I've seen in a long time . I only like having snow for my birthday and for Christmas, so we need snow

I'm sure you only don't like snow because it's common where you live. I don't live in a snowy are, making it my favourite weather. The days after it melts sucks though.
