Hey, everyone. There's a recent scam going on, where someone on your friends list will post a comment that basically tells you to check something out. They link to a .png file according to the URL. When you visit the web page, however, it downloads a .scr file. This will execute if you click it. The idea is to make people think they need to click the file to view the image, which allows it to execute.

I'm not entirely sure of what this file does, but people are suggesting that it will spam your friends with the same link and steal your items. Remember to be careful trusting files you find on the internet, even if you think it came from a friend. This isn't the only virus that spreads by tricking people to click on it.

And it automatically sent to all of my friends, most of whom I warned afterwards. I don't know what it did, and I didn't see any changes, but I'm worried. What do you guys think it will do? Should I change my password?

I dont think you have to change your password. If the .scr file stole your password steam would know about it already. Everyone and their mothers would have phising links if that was the case. If you really want to be safe you should keep your steam and email passwords different so they cant steal your account.
Hopefully I wont double post since im using my wii u to type this.
