This forum is dying, and there's virtually no activity in here anymore. The original two guys this forum was for are both gone. So what should be done to this forum? More RP's? More auctions? Or should we give up on this forum?

Edit: Apparently, people are hating on me because they think I shouldn't have a forum when it really isn't their choice. 

thing1 : You have no where near the Viz we'd want for the forum. You have 22k AND a contest running.

I think we should either add new topics to the forum, or auction it off with a starting bid of 75k. Most forums go for at least 100k-150k anyway, so this starting bid simply weeds out anyone not willing to invest from the beginning. If we do auction it off, the profits would be evenly split between us 3 remaining active mods of the forum. If we decide to change the topic, or add a new topic, we each need to pitch in a little of the Viz for the title change.

Hm...no.  I don't agree with selling it.  If it suffers a collapse, we can drag it into limbo while we figure what to do, but abandoning it or selling it is a drastic and defeatist strategy that I am not yet ready to use.

Barathemos : Very true, I was giving a minimum that forums usually auction for. Even 150k is a really low amount, but it's happened, which is why I mentioned it.

I wonder if this forum "would" sell for 500k (at least).

21 users have over 500k individually, which means it would likely need to be a joint auction in that case.

Zanderlex or sonicmcmuffin are notable forum members who might be interested in buying a forum outright, but I think most of the people who want one have one, now.

From what I see, I think this forum could use more topics and threads. If that doesn't work, then I guess you could try to sell it.

Plus I noticed that most of the topics seem to only go towards Megaman and Yu-Gi-Oh but not Fire Emblem. I thought it was the mix of the three, not just picking two out of three.

ghostfishy : Fire Emblem was added later, and it never quite gained momentum.  If it had, there would be more threads about it, but that's not really anything that could have been easily prevented. People simply weren't interested.

It's a shame that the Mega Man part of the forum faded, though.

mrfe : I didn't say I would buy it solo. I just said that I would be interested if you went the route of selling it. 

This is the first day I have visited this forum. While my knowledge is really of mega man and even that is limited to put it though I really believe that imaginative and creative processes of those who hold interest in these areas could be explored and pooled like a think tank to revive anything that may be fading away or is otherwise not momenting.
       I will use mega man as an example as this area I am most familiar with. For instance and this is not my normal practice, it was actually an idea I came up for a thread so at least feel a little privileged I share before even posting it; anyways, as I have been getting to know members on this site and have meet megamanmaniac who oddly enough I have a great deal of respect for although I have only known a little bit about him for a short time. Not to kiss anything there but, I feel it deserves to be known. I did however, remember him one night saying he liked basketball and later I thought of "no...wait...what about...MEGA MAN BASKETBALL!!!" it sounded really kewl to me and I realized it may be a topic of discussion that is interesting to various players.
      When it comes to stirring, creating, and/or attempting to stimulate interest...conversation...fun etc. You have to understand you can't always follow the order of operations. That is exactly what we learn in Mega Man. While each robot power has its opposite and some may in fact be easier than others we still get the choice to do whateva the heck we want when it comes to taking on a mission to knock a rogue robot off its said high horse and that is one of the reasons why mega man is fun! We can go about it the way we want.
       I hope that helps, I really do as I would love to participate more in this forum and I am sure there are others who would as well. If there is anything else I can do or you think I may be helpful with in this please feel free to send me a message and I will brainstorm the best I can. Just to say though I sincerely believe there needs to be a team effort here if the forum is to be saved. That is all I am putting in at the moment. If I think of anything else I will gladly post it. megamanmaniac : Letting you know that the first page of the forum has been cleaned up a bit. Closed some duplicates, old threads that no one posted in, etc. Also reopened some of the old ones that had dupes made of them, and attempted to revive a thread or two.

The first page has plenty of topics to post about, with less spam. At this point, there's nothing stopping people from posting. if it goes silent again, we might want to consider a topic change.

On a side note, due to my popularity and friendliness, (people who i hate apparently like me) an ask anything would keep it afloat if it went dead, or would suppliment activity because they would see the thread, visit the forum and then post in the forum, in theory.

(However geeogree seems to have unstickied and closed some of the ask anythings for a vague reason?)
