There sure are a lot of karting games, though, not all of them good. [looking at you Sonic Drift 2 (was there even a Sonic Drift 1?)!] Ever since Mario Kart, almost every E-rated series has tried their hand at the genre. My favourite is Mario Kart: Double Dash! as it was my first karting game.

Mario Kart 7 is my favorite karting game, largely for its fantastic online experience, brilliantly designed courses (some of which have great 3D effects), and plethora of customization options. Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed probably takes a close second. However, Mario Kart 8 may become my favorite, once I get it.

Mario kart double dash is my favorite because it's a really fun game and I really liked playing it when I was younger

I saw "Favorite Karting Game" and knew it would be a Mario Kart fest.

Double Dash!! (THERE ARE TWO ! MARKS!! GET IT RIGHT!) for me, for Mario Kart is always a favorite with me, and that one was my first Mario Kart to own, but thats not why I like it, I like it because it is the most competitive/intense one to play with friends, especially with all 4 players. You don't know how much fun I have when my tech teacher at school pulls out his wii and says "Mario Kart Day". I am one of the first people up there to get dibs on a controller, (and I usually keep it all period too, as 1st place gets to play another race where everyone else has to hand up the controller) and man have I had fun when people try to beat me, so, so, SO MUCH FUN. That is why I like this Mario Kart the most.

(And let me tell you, if those GC LAN Adapters weren't so damn expensive due to rarity, I'd have bought one already and be LAN tunneling it with any one I could.)

My favorite kart game would be Mario Kart Wii. I love all of the Mario kart games, but I that this one is he best. It has great characters and items, and came with the online multiplayer. It really sucks that they took that away.

The only karting game i could ever get into was Mario Kart: Double Dash. It was fun and fairly simple, though i can't remember how many friendships it ruined for me.

My favourite is Crash Nitro kart for the PS2 It's the sequal to crash team racing. I love the drifting mechanic in this game. My second favourite is Mario kart super circuit on the GBA, I love that game.

imamonster : I was never really a fan of the GBA version. I first played it using the Ambassador promotion on the 3ds, so I may like it better on the correct system.

thelastrequim : I dunno,  The game is really special and you have to be a fan of the type of courses there are in the game, it is worth buying though. It's not very expensive

My favorite kart game is, like most people, Mario Kart. My favorite Mario Kart game is Mario Kart 7. Keep in mind, I don't have a Wii U, so I haven't played Mario Kart 8, although I have heard GREAT things about it. 

LunarDarkness2 : Yeah, it really is a great game, I love it, I played it at a friend as I don't have a WII U either, I love the game!

LunarDarkness2 : I played it at GameStop, was fun, but a bit too slow, even for Mario Kart.

My favorite kart game I am going to have to say is Super Mario Kart I think it was for super nintendo thats was like the most fun racing game I played. RC Pro-Am and Super Off Road are very fun too racing games but there not kart games.

I always liked Mario Kart 64. But, I think my favorite Kart game would be Mario Kart Wii. You had to do a bunch of stuff to get gold all the way across your Driver's License, and then you had the two different ranking systems for Battle Mode and Racing mode. 

I think my favorite Kart game would either have to be Mario Kart 8 or Mario Kart 7 because those games have the most fluid controls and they're the most graphically enhanced ones that the series has to offer so far. Plus Mario Kart 8 has the awesome DLC packs and soon it will add the new 200cc.

I think that the best Kart based racing game has to be Crash team Racing. Especially due to the adventure mode and how fun most of the tracks were... I pretty much beat everything on it including all of Nitros Oxide's time trials which are very difficult to beat indeed. I just like it more than Mario Kart because it doesn't have such a bad "elastic banding" as Mario kart games do.. Plus it's a lot easier for people to pick up.. 

Plus the Crash characters are just in general more interesting than the generic boring Mario characters... 

I wish Crash team racing was playable on like PSN against other people online.. That'd be cool... I can dream x3
