Are there any fans of speedrunning out there on Vizzed? It looks like there have been a few speedrunning contests here in recent months, so I guess there's at least some interest. I actually spend an embarrassing amount of time watching speedrun streams on Twitch, so I was just curious if anyone else here might do the same.

I don't really like doing the speedrunning myself in most cases, but I've speedran Taco Bell: Tasty Temple Challenge for the lulz and currently have the world record in Mickey's Dangerous Chase (on Gameboy) which is the only game I really ran seriously.

I am somewhat of a speedrunning fan but I am not obsessed with it. I think it is amazing to do speedruns especially if you can finish at a short amount of time but I personally think it's more of a game perfectionist sort of type. I do watch some speedruns once in a while though. I don't see myself doing them especially when I am the type to do lots of mistakes in a game.

I am a fan of speedrunning. I've entered a few of the speedrunning competitions on Vizzed, and I've won once (for Super Mario Bros), and done fairly well in a few others.

I don't usually watch speedruns, but I always make sure to get my fix a few times year when they do the Awesome Games Done Quick, or Summer Games Done Quick. It's quite fun to watch someone completely annihilate some of my favorite games. In particular, I really enjoyed the 4-way Super Metroid speed run race that was earlier this year (if I am remembering correctly).

I am a fan of speedrunning but sadly I don't ever do it on vizzed as I know every is better than I am so I don't compete but I usually like to speedrun a Zelda or Pokémon game once in a while it's a really fun thing to get into.

I enjoy watching speedrunning, but usually don't go out of my way to watch it. I've only tried to speed up a game once, which was Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets on GBC. I went through half of it speedrunning then decided to play it normal.

Am I the only one who thought of the game Speedrunners when I saw this thread?

Well anyways I usually only speedrun Pokemon games if ever probably because those are the only games I'm able to do a speedrun effectively off. Generally I don't do it too much though since I like taking my time in games and finding lots of different things to do though if I'm really bored I might.

Can't really think of any speedrunners I watch but I've probably seen speedrunning videos of Pokemon games a few times.

I love speedruns! Seeing people beat some of my favorite games as fast as possible doesn't make me feel worse as a gamer, it just makes me feel awesome. "Hey, I played that game! How does he do it all so fast!"
So, as a side note, who's hyped for the next Awesome Games Done Quick convention? (This is a speedrunners convention, and they stream the entirety of these events on Twitch.tv on the GamesDoneQuick channel and on their site if anyone is interested!)

I enjoy watching speed runs, but i can't speed run for my life.

I like to watch all the different strategies used by speed runners in their playthroughs. I like watching Non-TAS speed runs more, since it's more impressive to know that impressive speed was done with just the tools at your disposal.
