This is how I define collector: A person who values the games they have and would likely never sell or trade off their games. Their collection may be any size and most likely contains at least some rare gaming items.

If a person has 50 games, it depends on what they do with it. If they fall under one same category like Pokemon, takes good care of them, making them mint condition, and valuing them, I say that person is a collector. It also depends on if you play them, or not.

Hardcore gaming has nothing to do with the amount. Its knowing all the nuances of whatever game the person gets good at and plays. However its hard to be considered Hardcore with only like two games! I guess its a balance really!

I have 50 games and I have beaten most of them. Some like fallout 3 I choose not to beat because I want to level my avatar to the highest level and collect all the rare guns. Some might call me a hardcore gamer but I just like playing games.

i have and still have like over 100 super Nintendo games there under my bed somewhere so if you don't play them your considered a collector and if you do play a lot of them then your considered a hard core gamer that's my opinion

all i know is that for someone like me, i consider myself a hardcore gamer, that 50 games is too much (if we are talking about one console), since i just like to grind myself into the ground on one game for a bit then move onto the next, i couldn't have 50 games and just play them whenever
