Internet trolls are everywhere but particularly noticeable on larger social media sites like YouTube. We cannot stop them, especially since there are too many to ban and they feed on negative feedback (no pun intended.) They purposely push buttons to get negative reactions.

Be honest. How well do you handle seeing troll traffic on a page that you are interested in? What about really obscene traffic on a page you are not interested in?


Keep in mind that trolls are not the same as spammers. Trolls are interested in how you react. Spammers post links or junk and almost never go back except to spam again. Also, I did not forget about the possible "I am a troll" option. I left it out on purpose. If that is how you think, choose the bottom option in the poll

I usually troll them right back, and try to " school them ". Most of the time, I can usually get my point across, and they don't respond. But some people are hard headed, and try to argue and " school " me back, so I just keep it going until they give up. I usually stay out of things that need to be stayed our of, but the ones I feel strongly about, I will immediately jump into, especially if it is about my brothers and sisters in arms. 

Rule number one: Don't feed the trolls. lol Funny thing, if everyone ignores them, they go away. Like you said, they feed off of our reactions, and as such I quickly learned to ignore them.

About the only time you'll see me acknowledge a troll is when I'm a Mod and I have to tell them to stop, or when I'm not a Mod and I'm trying to get them to stop harassing someone else. In the latter case I intentionally get them to start trolling me instead because I don't really care if they troll me, unlike the person they were terrorizing before me. lol But that case is a rare one.

ignoring them for long enough eventually get's them to feel embaressed and upset that they've been ignored and people are realizing that they're a moron.

Ok, my thing with trolls are simple, if you try to troll me, you'll get the biggest troll in your life from me by screwing with their minds, which means I am psychic.

So, by IB-rule, see a troll, screw with their minds so they will never troll again, or two, pretend that troll don't exist.
As a mod of the site, do not troll anyone or if you do, I'll troll you (with a warning). Eye for an eye, or how does that go?
So, for a lesson from the great IB, don't troll or you'll get trolled back, plain and simple.

Think you can troll ME? I am the troll master. Perhaps I don't seem like that here, but I can screw with you better than anyone else on this planet. Some punk tries to troll me? I'll show him what real trolling is, and that punk will be left changed.

Interesting the number of people saying they are trolls or they troll the trolls, but no one has voted any of the bottom options in the poll.

It is odd. And what's even more odd is people saying they're trolls. When did that become a term that someone would want applied to themselves in any way? lol But it does seem the word is looked at a lot differently than it was a year or two ago even.

I ignore stupid trolls no problem. They always shout fake stuff and use nothing but curse words and maximumly false insults. Ignoring them is easy if you know the steps to dealing with trolls. But sometimes in real life, a friend of mine will try to mess me with me for fun and rarely but I didn't pick the "calling out on specific person" option because I never really encounter a troll.

Lets just say that it is because I don't have a YouTube. There are more trolls on Google+ also, so if you don't have a YouTube and want to make some game videos, using Vizzed YouTube is what we would use, specifically to avoid some random trolls that have random names.

Honestly speaking. Trolls on the Internet are quite fun to play around with, I'm the type of person that will "act" and let them get their rise and then I'll just randomly talk to them normally, Usually it just ruins their intentions and sometimes leads to a decent conversation. The problem with facing trolls on the Internet is a lack of consequence.

I don't really know of any "trolls" in real life, I'd assume you mean practical jokers or pranksters. The reason why you don't come across the same people as you do on the Internet is simply because in reality they have a chance to be punished..

I usually ignore them, unless they specifically call me out. Then again, I almost never saw or do anything to "feed" them. Funny, whenever I'm on Youtube, I do not respond to them, but I can almost recognize one from a mile away.

I dont usually get bothered by trolls. But the best thing to do when your being trolled is troll them back. (its best to ignore them if your scared)

I pay trolls no mind
They're pretty pathetic
and it makes them mad if you flat ignore them

Ironically, trolls are pretty easy to piss off in general

They don't really piss me off or anything, to be honest I will fire right back at them with something just to make them mad. It's quite funny actually. Since being on Youtube I get someone all mad, and say I am horrible, and other choices of words. I just say "thanks for watching!"

I got one of my series called Modern Gamer Fanboy Reviews, and it is purposely annoying because it's suppose to be what a modern gamer fanboy sounds like, and I had someone tell me 3 times over 2 days how unfunny I am. I finally had to start messing with them.

I must be looking at a different set of trolls from the rest of you. I have never seen a troll stop for being trolled back. Replying gives them a reason to troll back, even if they eventually give up. But since they would eventually give up anyway, I don't see how any good came from it.

(I say this because I get almost as annoyed by the the people who are trolling the troll because it then gets more people involved, telling either the first or the second person now to shut up.)

Unless I'm in the mood to piss someone off and get a few laughs, then I ignore trolls. I find them pretty easy to ignore unless thier succesfully trolling someone else, in which case I would get their attention so they stop trolling that person. Ironically trolls are pretty easy to make butthurt. I guess you could say it's a case of the pot calling the kettle black? I don't know. Unless the trolling gets to a stupid point no one needs to acknowledge them, unless your a mod of course. Trolls are idiots and since when did people care what idiots do? Ignore them or, if you have the option at that moment, mute them.

I usually talk with trolls on youtube, and if they make me mad, I make them mad, the last troll I saw is someone that keeps using caps.

So yeah, that's what happened

No because usually them trolling is obvious though I guess they might bother me if they're targeting my specifically. If anything the thing that would bother me is people taking them seriously despite it being obvious that they're trolling or people who "feed" the trolls.

Or if I'm in the mood I might try trolling them back... Good times.

I usually leave them alone, as they are attention seekers. But if they call me and insult me in any personal way, then I will retaliate. Even if it is what they want.

I try to argue back sometimes but if they insult me I will try to make them mad. May be childish but that is what i do.
