To start off, I would like to say exactly what this thread is.
According to the rules in schools, you can not come into physical contact, or even close to contact with another student.
What does this mean?
Can I poke you? No
Can I hug you? No
If you want to know why I am making this thread is because I got iss for hugging one of my friends.
Why?
What the hell is the point of this.
It's forbidden to love someone?
Do you think I'm going to transmit Ebola by hugging one of my friends?
Do you think I'm going to hug one of my FRIENDS to stab them?
Think a hug will turn into sex right there?
I don't think so.
Germs? You put 1,500 kids in one building, they'll get sick either way,
People who thought this rule was a good idea, should be arrested for being mental.

Wow....that's new. I wouldn't be happy about that...sorry to hear bara that is now part of the rules. What is the actually reason of it? I kind of feel that it is pointless in a way, if they don't explain why, labu.....

Well, at least you will be Expelled from that Suck Shack when you give someone a Handshake one day. My cousin down in the south was actually given a 1 month suspension last year for playing that slapping game called "Tennis" with his friend. I do agree with you that this rule has got to go. If it's a Slap on the Face, then Action should be taken. If somebody Punches, Action should be taken. If somebody Pokes you, well, at least give them a warning if the student dislikes it. But HUGGING someone, or giving a HANDSHAKE? Who seriously dared to pull this s*** off?

I remember that teachers weren't supposed to touch students anymore, but I've never seen no contact between students being enforced.
Its stupid, frankly in school learning how to act socially is as important as any subject. Acting like physical contact is wrong is just stupid. What is this, the preparation for a real life demolition man utopia. They have until 2032, they aren't messing around.

thenumberone : This happens with a lot of schools in the US. To be honest, it doesn't really surprise me anymore. I thought my school was one of the few that did, but my friends keep telling me about it happening in their schools (out of county, or out of state). I find it ridiculous, but they just want to prevent "inappropriate" everything, and probably think that if they don't enforce it people will be having sex in the halls or something. 

Well that sounds really stupid, I don't even understand why that is a rule unless they think that touching someone else will end up with someone getting raped.

As far as I'm aware though we don't have any rules like that where I live or if there are they're not being enforced, I really hope that it wont be a rule in the future either.

But you got ISS just for hugging somebody? If that isn't some of the most stupidest crap I have ever heard of a school pulling.

I got ISS one time indefinitely ( only lasted about 8 school days ) because I apparently whispered to a girl that I was going to cut her ear off. I have no idea what they were talking about, and they wouldn't even tell me who the heck the person was that said I was going to cut their ear off. Apparently, the parents even tried to press charges against me. When I threatened to counter-sue and also press charges for slander or other stuff, they dropped the charges. However, the school kept investigating, and then they found out that whoever the girl was lied ( wow... surprise surprise ) , they expelled her, and allowed me back into class. When I asked for some form of reciprocation, they refused. 

I told you that because I wanted you to know that I know just how stupid schools can me. 

I have to ask though, where was the hug, and how long did it last? 

i think its to completely avoid any sort of sexual harassment sort of thing because all it takes is one person to touch the wrong person and the whole thing will blow up in to one big lawsuit so i think its a better safe then sorry kind of deal save that stuff for outside of school

a-sassy-black-lady : actually, if these rules weren't in place, there would be no lawsuit. Sexually harassing someone is a lot different from two kids just wanting to hug each other. I mean honesty, I won't go from a hug to sex right there. It's not how it works.

The only touching my school allows is holding hands. That's pretty much it. My school made it clear that no other touching is allowed on school grounds. Yeah, sucks that we can't hug each other or couples can kiss, but my school just wants to avoid sexual harassment. Honestly, I never actually saw anyone in my school get punished or suspended for just hugging or kissing, just told not to do it or reminded they are in school. Those who do harass others or get in verbal fights, however, get punished.

Seeing other schools punishing students for even handshakes or hugs, though... that sounds a bit uncalled for. It's just handshakes, or hugs. It's harmless in comparison to punches, kicks, slaps, etc. I understand that the no touching rule is to avoid physical harassment, but there is no need to enforce it to the point where even a simple handshake gets someone ISS.

Barathemos : your right i know a hug wont turn into sex but did anything sexual ever happen in your school that would cause the school to have such a strict policy

Barathemos : yeah then that rule is way to strict but i can also see it from the schools point of view angry parents and what not and its also better to completely avoid any sexual activity before it can even happen but what happened to you is absolutely ridiculous
