I remember checking the logs during the VCS and found a sorta famous member.

During the time, he made a Youtube video showing off Vizzed. He's apparently a well known Let's Player with about 8,000 (?) subscribers or something like that. Unfortunately, though, his account is in Spanish. So I couldn't figure out for the life of me what I was reading.

It would kind of explain higher traffic but lower registered members.

EDIT-

Hey, I found him.

https://www.vizzed.com/boards/profile.php?id=388207

And his YT account. He has way more subscribers now.

Here are the Vizzed videos I found from him.

Being perfectly legit, I do know of one. FireBlazerx17. In the Fire Emblem hacking community, the man is a legend. I highly doubt you'll find any more respected FE hacker, ever. There are tons of great ones, but none come close to Blazer.

I think I would fall under the area of "famous", I have a Facebook fan page (practically a blog) dedicated to things I think are funny, and general whining.

The page peaked at 13,000 fans, with an average of 300 likes a post.

It has receded quite a bit now, only at 12,000 and with 50 likes a post if I'm lucky, but I guess it still counts.

Not uber famous, but I still have a name out there .

In other senses, my friend Kirby7 is a rising member of the Smash community, winning many regional tournaments and even squared off with former world champion mew2king a few times in them. He doesn't come here very often, but he is kinda well known in his respective area.

I would say that it's 100% for certain that famous people have used this website. The people I'm thinking of though aren't CURRENTLY famous. I'm thinking retired athletes controlling themselves on retro sports games. I know I would do that if I was a former athlete. If I was a football player at one time I'd do seasons with my former teams on Madden or Tecmo games. Or maybe redo my career with a different team. That might sound kind of stupid but I would do it myself if I were them and I know some athletes are gamers. And I was only thinking about football. There's plenty of other sports games with real players too. Who's to say that some Quarterback that never won a Super Bowl wouldn't pick up a controller and win one on a game as himself?

1 out of 25? Just a suggestion, but maybe you could ask about it in 'Announcements' every 2 weeks.
(Or maybe tracing their IP address? Search for something near Hollywood. I don't know if it's legal, but yeah, just a suggestion...)

P.S. That was a joke...

I see, sounds like important data. But when you say 'people' do you mean computer IP, or houses, or are you sure it's people? For example, I access Vizzed from three different computers, two at home and sometimes one at my grandmother her house. But that does that make me three people then?

I'd like to think that I'm famous enough, with my 2,100+ Twitter followers, but I'm just a pebble in the lake in terms of fame xD Though you could say that I'm also a low-grade name on the forum scene, from the past, but that's another pebble xD

Judging from the statistics, of the U.S. Alone, at least a few have been here once and maybe a few made an account we really can't tell unless they say they have on some kind of site like Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr but I can say if any of us become famous we would defiantly mention this here site.

I'm certain theres one famous person on Vizzed.
And he's one of the most active users too!
Guys! I introduce you to: David Auchampach!

Other then that, there is a good chance indeed, but what about this? If David becomes famous, would that count?

Its possible, but not likely anyone major has.
As you stated, around 4% of the U.S has been on.
But it will be slightly less, with things like bots and people using multiple devices taken into account.
Additionally, id Imagine the majority of users are kids or in their later years.
Most people use the site because its free, if people had money to burn, they'd more likely buy there own systems, or buy the games through various platforms.
Athletes, in particular, tend to have very little time for video games, the sports are their lifes.

MysteriousPanzer : Called it.

What would be amazing, is if a famous person was a very active user here, and after seeing this thread realized it's time to donate to / promote vizzed. Then we have a celebrity endorser, and a lot of money/traffic.

Obviously, it likely won't happen, but it's fun to dream.
