My brother and sister in law just got a new dog and they're debating where the dog should sleep.

My wife and I have a a 2 year old puppy and she sleeps in a bed on the floor of our bedroom.  She has never been in our bed and we won't let her sleep in there, even if our baby is in the bed.

My cats sleep in the most random places. One of them sleeps in the basket full of cat toys and it would probably feel insanely uncomfortable for him so i dont know why he does it. But other that him the other 3 sleep on the bed and under it and just on the floor

In GA my dogs and cats always slept with me. Here it really depends my pets kinda have their own room here and I do not have a pet door like I used to. As for if they should or not I think that is completely  up to the owners life style. I do not think its gross because most people wash their sheets regularly anyway. Also  I do not know about other pets but I know because we have let ours she does like the couch or bed over the floor. If you start it is not nice to just stop it suddenly. Dogs don't miss what they don't know. So it you never allow them they will be perfectly fine.

My cat always sleeps on my bed as close to my head as he can get. Usually beside my pillow. I have no idea why, I guess he just likes the top of the bed? Either way I don't mind that he sleeps there. Better than the litterbox (He did that when he had potty issues).

I used to let my kitty sleep in my room but she has a bad habit of taking down the curtains in that particular room... so now she sleeps in the living room, usually somewhere soft like on my huge teddy bear or the little bed she has. Sometimes when I'm feeling lonely I feel really tempted to take her in with me when I'm sleeping, but I know that after a few minutes of cuddling she's just gonna run around the room aimlessly!

My cat used to sleep on my bed with me, but I'm allergic, so that doesn't happen anymore. Nowadays, my cat TJ sleeps in his various beds and cat trees around the house. He has a little castle on the landing at the top of the stairs. That's where he usually is every night and he uses that the most.

Well, before my dog passed away last month he was always an outside dog and he would stay in the backyard and wander around. Normally he would just climb up the stairs and then lie down on the deck, or he might just curl up on the lower patio and stay there the night. On rainy days though he would sleep underneath either one of them. He was too big a dog to be an inside pet, standing up on his hind legs, he would be about 6 feet tall and he weighed about 120 to 130 pounds. I miss him a lot, if I were to get a pet I would want it to be a small inside at or dog, or even a fish maybe.

I got one dog, and she will sleep just about anywhere. Sometimes she sleeps right outside my door, sometimes behind the couch, and sometimes in another room.
